Sign me up for a Risto and Nylander for Trouba with an extension in place obviously. The Trouba and Ehlers for Risto and Reinhart deal is also pretty even for both sides. This offseason should be another eventful one for us, at least I hope.

I can't see the Jet trading Touba to the Sabres for Risto as they have 4 NHL ready d-men in their system ready to take Trouba's place. I think the Jets would want a #1 center or a # 2 center with a first round draft choice and Eichel worth way more than Trouba, so no trade to be made that helps the Jets.

I think I'd want an extension before trading. Too risky otherwise.

Risto is locked in at 5 and change. Trouba is gonna be looking for, what, around $8.5? Maybe north of that? They could offer Reinhart a long-term deal, say $7x7. In any case, Reinhart is only making $3.5 in '19-'20

The Jets have too many right-handed defensemen already (assuming they intend to re-sign Tyler Myers), so Ristolainen actually wouldn't work in this scenario. Not to mention, the Jets need to either bring back Kevin Hayes or find their #2 Center instead of chasing one every trade deadline. So, as much as I would love to see Trouba in a trade to Buffalo... it appears unlikely, unless they are interested in cheaper alternatives like Nylander and others. However, a Trouba to the Leafs deal might make some sense for both teams, unfortunately... if the Jets are willing to take Kadri and another player.
