The longer it drags on the more obvious is that we are gonna try to pouch some young assistant from a team in the playoffs right? - JVince11
Or the Swede who is focused on the World Championships |

I think the most realistic guy we can afford and have the peices to target is Vincent Trocheck down in FLA. Had a rough year dealing with injuries so he can be had cheap, I think.
Im talking realistic and makes sense. If they really are the top choice for Bobrovsky and Panarin, they need to consider their cap and structure.
We can and should consider it and I don't even think we would have to give up Risto. - BeadyEyedDouche
Florida would sure have to move a ton of money to make that happen. Especially in goal. Luongo at 40 is signed at 4.5M for another 3 years and Reimer is signed at 3.1M for another 2 years |

Luongo is the one that's screwing them, retire already. He's gonna be lucky if he play's 30 games. |

I like
trouba and elers
For
Risto and Sam
How about trouba and connor
For Sam and risto.
Need a 2C - Boss34
In both of those scenarios.... the players we are getting back are better than the 2 players we are giving up IMO. Can't see it.

You're not wrong... he's played 43, 35, and 40 over the last 3 seasons. With his GAA raising and S% dropping. |

Or we are waiting for the swedish coach?
They have to wait until the tournament is over to speak with him.
I'm %90 sure , they hire the swede |

If he did retire, don't the Canucks get crushed by recapture? Wonder what goes on behind the scenes there.

Conner seems like a Player they want to keep, I would rather keep Sam. - SABRES 89
I'm sure Winnipeg loves Conner, that being said:
Peg might need to give to get.
I guess it depends on how they feel about laine.
Hes going to command eichel $
Sam really came into his own. In the middle of last season
Not sure if he has "playoff guy" written on him
Pretty ugly out there |

I tend to agree. Maybe we need to add the 7th pick?
I'm ready for the backlash |

Winnipeg needs to decrease payroll to enable them to resign their RFA's. Dealing Trouba in a deal featuring the underwhelming Risto Ristolainen and his 5.4M cap hit does not help. Next |

Funny to imagine Van getting nailed with that 8m penalty.

He's only hurting the Panthers by not retiring, both on the ice and cap wise. |

Who else is still in this recapture penalty thing?
Pronger (PHI/ARZ)
Weber (PHI/NSH/MON how does that work since it was PHI's offer that NSH matched?)
Datsyuk (DET/ARZ)
Hossa (CHI/ARZ

I don't really care. Looking at those numbers, I'm just curious what kind of pressures are put on him by various parties. I can't imagine Van is just sitting around with their fingers crossed. When this ends with LTIR, I'll be disgusted and not at all surprised.

Don't think any of them actually retired until their contracts were over, which is a joke.

Keep Ristolianen and wait until UFA opens. Why trade away a top 4 defenseman? Everyone needs to relax and look at the big picture;
Casey was playing a position that he was not ready for, a 2nd line player
A 18 year old phenomenon in Dahlin
the continued Decline of Okposo, and Bogosian
The career of Jason Pominville
Minimum 10 total players brought in before the start of 18-19
a minimum 15 players had been added to the roster for the overall season
the trade of Brandon Montour
The Firing of Phil Housley
IMO that's a lot to un-package over the course of 18 months. We have to give GMJB some time to fix what Murray left the franchise in. The success the Rochester should be welcoming for the future |

What if Risto isn't in his long term plan? What if he knows that losing PP time and overall ice time will lower his production and this is an ideal time to get a quality return?
We still don't really know what JB's core looks like, beyond the obvious 2.
