Just watched GoT last night. Seeing Endgame Friday.
GoT was.. it was a masterpiece. - TheSabresTaco
I don't know. It was hyped as something that would dwarf the Battle of the Bastards. I'm not sure it did that, though it could have been because expectations were so high. I have to say I found myself asking "That's it?" at the end.
Don't get me wrong. It was still very well done. I just expected a little bit more. I saw a reaction from a sports commentator (Clay Travis) that put it best. It felt like someone was up 28-3 in the Super Bowl and just blew it.

It's unfortunate that what preceded the final battle in Endgame was equal parts meandering, nonsensical (even for a comic book movie), and often outright boring.

I think I felt the opposite about everything here. I think there could have maybe been more plot, make it a two part episode, but I absolutely loved it. I think what's so great about the show is that now they'll have to face off vs Cersei's army, which, let's be honest, will need to be even more epic.

I think this would have helped it for me. Like I said, I still liked it. I just didn't think it was that much better than Battle of the Bastards, if it was at all. The ending just seemed a little anti-climactic. Not so much the "what" or the "who" (I actually liked the twist...you definitely didn't see it coming, as is standard with GOT), but the "how" just didn't do it for me.

I’ve confirmed Anthony Johnson wanted no part of being on the #Bills. It was widely known to the point that Buffalo indeed did 1. Not draft him and 2. Not offer him an UDFA contract

I wonder why.. I thought he loved buffalo ? - gerbe75pts
The expectations of playing in your home/college town can put on some added pressure that some people just want no part of.

Bills replaced 4/5 of their starting front 5 on O.
Vlad Ducasse is bumped to 3rd string. John Miller got signed to a desperate Cincy team. Ryan Groy and Jordan Mills remain unsigned. Chris Ivory remains unsigned. Charles Clay got 2M.

31 other teams also didn't draft him.
There could be plenty of reasons why he didn't want to play here. So be it. Tyree instantaneously signed here. If, of course, this tweet is factual.

That was my reaction too. When you are basing a conversation off of plus/minus. - JVince11
There is alot wrong with basing an evaluation solely, or heavily on +/-, however it is just as egregious to omit it out of hand.
Context is required for sure.
I believe the relative value is important to consider rather than the raw number.
When two players are close, throw it out ... when there is a Continental Divide between them, it provides another point of value.

Ive got a good feeling Frank Gore gets cut. - RippedFuel
if anyone, it'll be Yeldon, or McCoy if he vastly under performs. They went after Gore pretty fast, and they really.. really like him. The leadership factor gets their loins wet.

it could be rough if they don't gel together. that much turn around can be hard to start the season

Maybe, he is older than dirt, but the value he provides is
-at the goal line/short distance downs
-picking up the blitz to protect Allen....gives an extra second to find his man

Neither the Battle of the Bastards or Sunday nights battle compare to the epic battle of trying to drive around today with all the crazy volunteers trying to sell Kids Day newspapers.

Precisely...especially with them wanting to give players shots at multiple positions.
I think that is smart, but at the same time it comes at the expense of continuity early on in the season.

Yeah that's a major point. IMO... I feel this is a bigger issue in hockey than it is football. Especially if you're not including QBs and WRs in the discussion.
But we do have new receivers, and all new linemen that need to learn the playbook. Say what you want about culture and drive, but the optics say this team has it in droves. And that helps push the unit as a whole to gel and to outwork each other. There may indeed be bumps in the road, but as a whole, when you're fielding better, smarter, driven football players, the types of players this org goes after, you're inevitably getting a better product.
I enjoy reading the All 22's that Joe B and Cover 1 do. I'm looking forward to comparing grades from last year for the front 5. Even moreso, I'm looking forward to Josh Allen having more than 3 seconds in the pocket.

For sure. Ageless Wonder offers elements that no other RB on the team can offer. He may very well make Pat DiMarco expendable.

Good article by Scott Wheeler on The Athletic about his NHL prospects scouting process and system to evaluate players. I thought it was very well done and can't wait for his Top 100 Rankings coming out next week.
Good read.
