I think it’s way too early for that call, lots can happen yet. - Pacificgem
Yeah, we won't really know what to expect until the summer |

Contrary to media reports, I have not contacted Mike Gillis about returning to the Canucks and have no plans to do so. - VanHockeyGuy
I love how he needs to keep tweeting about all the people he's NOT interviewing for a job |

He’s only slightly less of a fool than Melnyk in Ottawa, at least he’s not cheap lol. |

It probably has to do with how easy the fan base gets influenced by the troll media.

The 2018 Leafs signed JT & went out in 7 again & cap problems now & will lose players. The 2017 Leafs signed & stuck with Marleau. DUmBASs has work to do. |

Please explain how it has hurt the team - NorthNuck
hes an unmoveable/tradeable 33 year old pylon who is signed for 3 more years, is the highest paid forward on the team, essentially has a contract that is buyout proof, and the best we can do is bury him on the 4th line or press box in a best case scenario. No matter how you spin it, that signing is awful. |

Part of that was planned. People say we need high draft pick but when the Canucks execute that plan everyone starts screaming.
Benning knew his D last summer was the worst and yet he brought it back with no improvement. I think Benning himself was caught off guard about how aggressive the team was. I give him credit for sticking to the plan.
He could have made trades last year to plug some holes but stayed pat. He could have gotten rid of Pouliot at anytime but waited until TDL .
Like I say , there will be a big improvement this year. - VANTEL
In the end JB didn’t have many options & he did let the kids play & the spots there for them to succeed. Not much good came of it but we did ok anyways. We are going in the right direction. |

MacEwen as well - CanuckDon
He has the tools he just has to figure out how to use them. If that kid ever figures out I need to be like Kassian then we got a keeper. Less the drugs.

It's undoubtedly a terrible signing. I don't however think it hurts the team.
The cap hit is a non issue with half of our best players still on ELCs, and sticking him in the press box is easy. He is still a pretty decent PKer and you can always limit his ice time when he is in the lineup. |

He did have options. He even said at the start of last year we probably won't make the playoffs. They knew what they were doing.
He has said a few times this year though we will get a top 6 guy and young Dman.

its all a matter of perspective then I guess. Your highest paid forward making 6 million and his best attribute is "hes a half decent PKer" and "is fine with limited minutes", then to me, it hurts more than just on paper/cap. It is what it is though, we can go in circles on how bad or decent LE is and the fact remains he will be in a Canuck jersey or pressbox for the next 3 years regardless. |

I mean if all you're worried about is the teams pride taking a hit for having LE on the team then I don't really see it as a problem.
Yes he's garbage but we have plenty of corners to shove him in until his contract is done, it's not a big issue at all really |
