Always nice too see or hear from a Leafs after they are eliminated. They should consider this season a success, as they again made it to game 7 of the 1st round.

Most clubs have somewhere between 18 - 24 players with legitimate NHL level talent. Under the expansion draft, Vegas was given 30. And not just scrubs and has-beens like previous franchises. Based on what teams could protect, they were allowed to to pilfer a top 6 forward or a top 4 defenceman from pretty much every team in the league.

Under those circumstances, even Benning and his lousy pro scouting crew could assemble a better roster than what the Canucks have now.

- YeOldTimer

Agree with everything you said and yes Vegas had preferential treatment like no other expansion franchise.

Having said that McPhee still had to think it through. Not sure if he just got a bit lucky but as lucky as it was impressive that team he assembled.

Basically teams used to be able to protect 12 forwards 6 dmen and two goalies now with Vegas I (believe) it was 9 forwards 4 dmen and one goalie teams were allowed to protect basically or something like that. A joke basically.

I agree everyone does but it doesn't make it right. I remember a pass interference call happened in the NFL (I don't follow) and there was a pretty big stink. Last I heard the NFL are looking at maybe having video reviews to make sure it doesn't happen again. Maybe major penalties should be allowed to be reviewed.

That was a huge gaffe, and the coach for the team that got (frank)ed is on the rules committee.

It was akin to drawing blood on a headshot in the slot while he was about to shoot into an empty net. No call.

It keeps me hydrated and starts my day off right. If I don't have it every morning I don't feel right. The main reason though is I used to have really bad psoriasis on my legs and after 6 weeks of consistently taking it inflammation was way down and it started going away. After 3 months my psoriasis was almost completely gone and has never come back. I have done it everyday pretty much since 2012. I have not even had so much as a flare up.

Not really. A lot of GMs were stupid and gave up way more just to not have someone selected. Things like:

And they also chose a bunch of poopty players, like:

Better players than other expansion drafts? Hell yes. But for the good of the game, you can't have a $500 million dollar team in a brand new market be the worst of the worst.

- NewYorkNuck

My point is McPhee doesn't really deserve as much credit as he continues to receive. The league put him in such an advantageous position over all the other clubs. Did they do better than expected? Yes, wildly. But perhaps that's because expectations were too low.

Traditionally, new professional sports franchises are expected to be bad for an initial period. And that's ok because there's a honeymoon period for your fan base that's just excited to have a team and go to the games. That would have been true in Vegas as well because they've never had a major pro sports team.

Now expectations in that market are completely out of whack. How will they respond in a few years when they start having losing seasons?

Just seen Boys of the Hood director John Singleton died from stroke age 51 . Can never figure out why some go and some stick around forever. No rhyme or reason.
