Binnington is the most valuable rookie to his team ... Pete was the most outstanding overall ...

Most valuable rookie? I don’t know. I would argue that Binnington is the Blues most valuable player regardless if he’s a rookie or not. Doesn’t make his season more impressive than Pete’s imo.

I think Pete wins for sure ...if Binnington was 4 years younger and played 10-15 more games ...then we have more of a race

Understood and agree.

I’m not a fan of having rookie goalies and players competing for the same trophy. It’s a difficult comparison to make. Their impacts are so different to a team. For me, I see a goalie’s impact similar to quarterbacks, pitchers, etc.

All Gillis needs is a dinner with Aquilini and it's a done deal.

That wasn’t trolling, I even provided the province story link

I was just as shocked as you that Aquilini would even consider something so bloody stupid

Fair enough, but accessory to trolling is still trolling. Or linking a Province story is equal to peddling smut. Have your pick; troll or smut-monger?

As impressive as Binnington has been he only played 20 regular season games? Not sure how he even got into Calder voting but is what it is. If the League gives it to him over Petey wow...that's worse than Gary having his refs apologize to Vegas

Bettmanhatesus, is that you?

He played 32, with these stats:

GP W L OT GAA Sv%
32 24 5 1 1.89 .927

I don’t think he should win based on sample size, but those are fantastic stats for a goalie... especially since the Blues turn around started when he came up.

Sample size has continued into the playoffs where it counts. I want Petey to win but Binnington is going to win it.

The biggest knock against Binnington is he is 25 and been playing in a professional league 6 years.

I don’t think that’s correct...

The winner is selected in a poll of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association at the end of the regular season and each individual voter ranks their top five candidates on a 10 -7-5-3-1 points system. Three finalists are named and the trophy is awarded at the NHL Awards ceremony after the playoffs.

Playoffs should have absolutely nothing to do with the award. But that's the mentality.

They gave the Hart to Hall when it should have went to McDavid...just because Jersey made the PO's then got torched.
