Bettmanhatesus, is that you?
He played 32, with these stats:
GP W L OT GAA Sv%
32 24 5 1 1.89 .927
I don’t think he should win based on sample size, but those are fantastic stats for a goalie... especially since the Blues turn around started when he came up. - NewYorkNuck
Just out of curiosity, how many games does everyone think a goalie needs to play to consider it a full season? Like, if he played 41 instead of 32 would that be enough? What about the games Petey missed due to injury, does that give Buffalos super rookie a chance? |

No idea. Bettman probably changed a rule so Binnington can win. |

Votes happen at end of regular season. Just posted that.
the winner is selected in a poll of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association at the end of the regular season and each individual voter ranks their top five candidates on a 10 -7-5-3-1 points system. Three finalists are named and the trophy is awarded at the NHL Awards ceremony after the playoffs |

Personally I’m just curious as to how much the lemon helps, aside from making the water more enjoyable. Warm water is easier to drink and probably helps draw out the lemon flavour. - golfingsince
Lemon/lime have electrolytes in their juice. Lemon water is essentially a healthy non-sugary gatorade. I'm partial to pickle juice when I need electrolytes bad, good for a hangover |

Looking back at history of the Calder, Martin Brodeur won the award playing in 47 games, so I would say somewhere around your 41 games number, would be a fair amount of games for a goalie to win the award. |

Just for the sake of arguing, what if he had been up all year (instead of starting in the AHL), has played in a few games here and there but Allen was “the starter”, and then he finally got a chance - his team was in last place, no hope for the season and he played 32 of the final 34 games, doing what he did...?
I think he should be up for the Hart and the Vezina, but he is too old to be a rookie. |

Will Demko be a rookie next year?
We could have two Calder candidates when he wins the net from 1 shot 1 goalstrom |

Yeah, I think he will still have rookie status next year, hasn't played enough yet. |

The age of how old a rookie should be to qualify for the Calder, has been a bone of contention for decades, even before Makarov won the award.
There needs too be a rule in place about playing in some of these other leagues, ie; AHL KHL SHL etc that disqualifies a player from being consided for this award.
I would not be opposed to an age limit of 24 or under, as long as that player hasn't played more than 100 games in 1 of the league's that are a step or 2 below the NHL. |

100 professional games in an “other league”, or 20 games in the NHL? What’s the cutoff now? |

It’s a huge problem with the organization. We won’t hire anyone without past connections to the team and the majority of our fanbase is uncomfortable with change. Solution ? Bring back the last GM. We should interview Gillis and Nonis and choose whoever says rebuild the most. (frank) it’s frustrating being a Canucks fan |

I'm with you on this. Frustrating as a Nucks fan to read this crap. poop we may as well take a run at Burke too. Like the coaches in this league the recycling has to stopp sooner or later correct? lol
Similar issues with the Oilers they just outright refuse to get rid of the ol' boys club. Playoffs once since 2006...

Did you hear Hansen has decided to move back to Van to raise his family? How long until the fanbase is petitioning for his hiring? When will Kesler make the ring of honour? The org needs a cleansing |
