teams can afford them, obviously. Canucks can afford any of the top free agents this summer. I personally just don't think the timing is right to land any of them. And again, we have an abundance of cap now, which is great, but it won't be long before we have to start paying the Boesers/Petterssons/Hughes's of the team. I imagine TOR is thinking twice about Zaitsev (free agent) and Marleau (free agent) now, Id rather avoid that situation entirely.

Real stars don’t hit the market often. Don’t care about those you mentioned as anything as a comparable.

87 points playmaking goal scoring play drivers we don’t need?

Schaller was one of those free agents though lol.

Again, if they want to take a run at a lower-end free agent, im all for it. As long as it doesn't significantly impact us in AAV or term, id be open to it, but again, I wouldn't whine or complain if the Canucks didn't do anything drastic in free agency, and again, would encourage it.

I understand the reluctance towards big free agents for sure and I'm not interested in most of them myself, but there are exceptions.

Panarin is a sure thing. That kind of goal scoring touch doesn't go away, so whether he stuck long term or not his cap wouldn't hurt when compared to his output.

Karlsson on the other hand I think would be a pretty big risk due to his injury history and cap hit vs. output 3, 4, 5 years from now.

The Canucks have needs in multiple areas lol.

Why is it that I can respect your opinion about wanting a specific free agent, or multiple free agents, but the second I disagree, its absolute blasphemy and you have to try to persuade me to see it your way lol. Can we not just agree to disagree?

don't get me wrong, I like Panarin as a player, and if the Canucks were a little bit more well-rounded in their roster, a player like Panarin (cap permitting) makes sense, I just personally don't think the time is right to land him, just my opinion.

I’m only stating Panarin is the real deal & would be a great add if we could get him.

never said he wasn't the real deal, as a player, I think Panarin is very good, I just don't think the timing works, and I also don't think he wants to come here, but thats for a different day lol

It's just a pipe dream anyways, b/c he's not going to sign here.

But JB would be a fool to pass on him if he was interested in signing here.
He's young enough to grow with our stars and would allow the team to continue to develop and improve.

Ok but doesn’t Panarin further help us rounding out? Cannot draft & develop forever & pass on a real star. It will be quite awhile rebuilding & idk if these opportunities will happen when we are ready like some would like to believe.

I was with you on the Fox idea, not that I had high hopes but you have to try all possibilities.

The timing is fine but like you say we need to sign him 1st. Whether he signs here or not the effort has to be explored. Move on if he won’t sign but i will not presume anything til something happens. As i said with Fox talent that fits needs is a GM’s business or he should be gone.

lol, i never said otherwise. My opinion on what the Canucks should and shouldn't do is about timing, rather than the absolute of exploring a player in free agency or unplugging your phone line and call-blocking your pro scouting department. You guys are taking my opinion out of context 100%
