Zach Bogosian’s hip surgery could change the Buffalo Sabres plans for Rasmus Ristolainen. It’s rumored the Sabres and Tampa Bay Lightning discussed a trade involving the defenseman. However, general manager Jason Botterill could instead look at how to help Ristolainen improve his game.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Unless Ristolainen wants a trade, I think it would be a mistake to move him. Better to find a coach or perhaps a veteran blueliner to mentor the youngster.

Warren Foegle had 15 points in 77. Rob Thomas had 33 in 70 but was placed in a better situation to succeed. Mitts will be fine once we get him some help. - Pegullaville
The Lehner trade didn't really bother me at the time
But really the Oilers have been so bad at trading - Stripes77
the lehner trade i really didn't think was all that bad. IMO he was the best goalie available that summer.. if he just stayed sober that trade would have been fine right now and this team would be better with him. he is still the only goalie from that summer (young) that is still in the league with a prominent role.. Unless you count Talbot as good

Buffalo sports franchises need a "Buffalo guy" that can determine if the prospect can handle living there. A lot of people do not enjoy the lifestyle buffalo offers, and then they crack. Fitz one of these nights you can put together a list of them, you have the time.
Have Terry call the owner of Rochester... - washedup20
just thought i would let you know.. but any NHL team can sign him i would think, but i could be wrong, so that literally adds 0 value to any trade offer
