Not sure what he thinks of Buffalo, but I would say with the state of the Sabres and the unfortunate perception of Buffalo vs NYC his hometown ... I'd say the odds were stacked against the Blue and Gold.

This is absolutely true. It would just be nice to have a team where this isn't so much of a concern. Tampa doesn't have to worry about it. Neither does TO, BOS, NYR, PITT, or even FLA anymore. Players likely look at Carolina and the Islanders a lot differently now.

Fox was a junior, I guess he could've gone back to school but didn't want to. Rangers have A LOT of picks, so spending the 2nd and maybe the 3rd didn't mean as much to them. My Ranger-fan friends seemed quite happy with the move.
