That doesn't sound like him. Probably an accident.

Fox was a junior, I guess he could've gone back to school but didn't want to. Rangers have A LOT of picks, so spending the 2nd and maybe the 3rd didn't mean as much to them. My Ranger-fan friends seemed quite happy with the move.

You're right. I took a quick look earlier at thought he was UFA this Summer. Guess he was just threatening to go back to school.

Friedman said the meeting between Botts and Tippett went "very well".

What would make Tippett want to leave Seattle at this point? Very strange.

There’s a lot to take in here. Seems a bit ambitious for JB. Hey, at least he interviewed a head coach though, right? Even if it was re-tread Tippett.

He is consulting for Seattle, not employed directly.
Maybe he is getting a vibe it isn't going to happen with them?

Hopefully he takes control of the defense and has a offense guy with him

Good coach he will finally have good talent around him I just like more run and gun stuff

He’s The best candidate that’s for sure

Found it

7. Buffalo interviewed Dave Tippett for its coaching vacancy, and word is that went very well. Jacques Martin was in there, too, and Swedish National Coach Rikard Gronborg is expected to be in the mix. After a great regular season their AHL affiliate, Rochester, was swept by Toronto in the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs. Word is they were very impressed with the job Sheldon Keefe did, and it wouldn’t be a stunner if they asked to talk to him. There is a belief they don’t want a first-time hire, but Keefe could test that.

Tippett Is a very good coach the things he did when the coyotes had a poopty franchise was absolutely amazing he reminds me of Gerard Gallant brings out The max out of players and players respect him

This will be the first time that he has a really good team If he Coached for us and could be the medicine we have been looking for

But I hate defense coaches so obviously this is going to be the right pick lol

He took the Yotes to the Conference Finals, which is pretty good. But he couldn't out-tank the Sabres for Jack.

Is not out-tanking the Sabres a negative or positive on his career resume?

What are you talking about? He had seasons of 111, 97, 112, 107, 97, and 83 points in Dallas. And went to the playoffs every year but one. And played in 8 series in 5 years. He started off well in Arizona, especially the first year with 107 points, making the playoffs the first 3 years playing in 5 series, but that was all she wrote aside from a death rattle year with 89 points sandwiched between 51 and 56 point years. He's donezo.

Reinforces what he is. Middling. Although he'd seem to the best of the retreads at this point, so who knows?

No Jaques Martin please. Tippet. Meh. I am OK with it but not over the moon. I was against the Swede until I read that article in The Athletic and now I think i want him. Why not go with the Swede, what do we have to lose? In the last two years we were 31st and 27th.

I like the idea of Foote as well, but think it would be near impossible to get him out of there.
The 3 old guys on D are all UFA'S and each over 32, providing much needed Cap space of $11m to sign Point and pay the increases to Gourde and Kucherov.
They need to backfill those D spots with young, cost controlled players, to which Foote is one of them. Risto and Callahan are a relative wash, Nelson fills another D hole cheaply.

Cirelli at 21, with 100 games under his belt is ready to break out after a season of 19/20/39.
I'd like him on Sabres, but decided to use his attractivenesss to be a major piece in getting the 2 out of LV and providing the Knights with cap space they need as well.
