You spent WAY more than everyone else here on D... I did pick Murphy, and Francis and Mullen were just too good a steal at $4 combined... - Cousinskrid
I hope you’re not being sarcastic lol
Kevin Hatcher could move the puck and chip in offensively. Derian was more of a physical d-man but was not bad. - Barnaby36
The game had passed him by when he got to Philly, you couldn't get away with nearly as much as you could pre-lockout. But man, during his time in Dallas, he was arguably the toughest/meanest defender in the NHL along with Pronger and Chara.

Derian Hatcher is possibly the slowest skater to play in the NHL ever.

I think that has to go to either Hal Gill or Tiger Williams. Although, if Matthew Strome ever makes it to the NHL, he'll topple them both. Watching him skate in preseason or rookie exhibitions is painful.
Edit: John Scott threw his name in the bag as well. But really, a lot of those 70s/80s enforcers would be ECHL-level skaters today.
Roenick talked so much poop, and was running Modano all year whenever they played, and called Dallas soft. So while I'm sure he didn't enjoy having his jaw wired shut for the next few months, he pretty much had it coming. Back then, you actually had to back up your words, right or wrong.

Not at all.
I don't think too many 90s "defensive defenseman" would look good playing in today's NHL.
Imagine Brendan Witt out there today. (and before ya'll freak out, yes I know Hatcher was a much better player than Witt.)

Roenick always ran his mouth, that was part of Roenick. I just don't think showing a gif of him charging someone is going to sway my opinion on his ability to play actual hockey.

Oh, he wasn't great at things like skating, passing, or stick handling (actually had a decent shot, though, when he got it off). Just saying, he was a guy you didn't want to go into the corner with and had to always keep an eye on.
