Brayden Point: Point established himself as a top-10 center in the game this season, and he will likely end up getting paid like one. Point, due a hefty extension as a restricted free agent, is the Lightning’s top priority this offseason, and will probably end up with a contract in the $7 million-$8.5 million AAV range, depending on the term. Point is the Lightning’s No. 1 center and, many nights, their best player
umm... Point 7-8.5 ..why the (frank) is all this talk about Marner and 12mil
Marner should not get any more than point |

what is Korshkov upside? Like a 4th liner?
Debrincat just scored 40 goals .. but is small and Korshkov is 6'4 woohoo - senstroll
TSN didn't have him in their top 150 European prospects:
https://www.tsn.ca/2016-n...ters-goaltenders-1.470342
So we took him with the 31st overall pick.

Not sure if anyone talked about this last night as I am too lazy to back read. But Rosen went into the boards heavily last night in the Marlies' first game of round 2. He dove to swat a loose puck away after a juicy rebound popped out, and slid head first into the end boards. Looks like he was out cold for a few seconds, didn't return the game. Guessing he is likely done for the season.
You can see it happen early in the Marlies' game in six:

X-Ray was positive, he should be fine said Keefe after the game. |

I know people love Marner, but his side have acted like a-holes and look greedy. Hope Leafs play hardball and threaten to move him. |

looking at the 16/17 drafts
a couple ok'ish hits after rd 1..but throwing darts probably gets you the same..or just picking the condenses BPA on the board you have a better rate of success than that
But Hunter geneyus |

The drafts Dubas have been involved in look a lot better than the Hunter ones. The Sandin pick looks fantastic. |

The Hunter/Dubas/Lou team were anointed the smarterest drafters ever, yet they have a shockingly bad record for any pick after the top 10. |

The problem with Marner's argument that he should be paid like Matthews is he plays a different position and that amount makes him the highest paid in NHL history by far.
I would wait and see what Rantanen gets. And unlike Marner, Rants' side will want to get as far away from what his teammates make as possible as Mackinnon makes 6.3 million. They can't say they deserve as much as Mackinnon. |

That is one problem with Marner's agent. Both sides will be saying he played with Tavares. Leafs will say that's why he got 90+ points. Marner will say he is why Tavares scored 47. |

Tavares' production went up overall very little from the previous season without Marner. Marner went from 69 points to 94. |

I didn't even think to look at that. 88 points as a Leaf and 84 the previous year as an Islander. He's a PPG player so he is consistent. Marner got more points due to Tavares. |

In retrospect we think that, but that was the market value at the time. Makinnon's issue is he got off to a relatively slow start to his career. He wasn't a superstar until last year.
This time next year people will do a 180 on Nylander's contract imo. |

I'd guess that Point will wait for Marner to sign then take the standard tax adjusted amount for Florida. So if Marner gets 9.5 then Point takes 8.5 or whatever.

Really? That's the only reason to fire him? I'd think that his handling of the team would go longer in determining that.
Complains about lack of depth, overuses said depth
Held his stars back mins wise, especially down in the 3rd period of game7
(frank)ed up the goalie pull in back to back games
Zero adjustments to horrendous special teams - burn
Yes. That would be the only reason to fire him. But I only meant before the next season. If next season the same thing happens (1st round elimination) then yes, fire him.
He's been excellent for this team. Literal last place in the league to 3 straight playoffs. It's just unfortunate that the playoffs brackets are retarded.
For sure he made a lot of stubborn decisions, I'm not saying he didn't, but the good far outweighs the bad. That's why firing him before next season would be stupid. Unless, again, the main guys absolutely despise him. |

Brett Pesce's dad, a New Yorker himself, got into a fight with one in game 2 in Long Island.
Then yesterday he referred to Isles fans as a bunch of "little female doges" because all they talk about is how poorly their team is playing, and how it couldn't possibly be that the opponent is any good. - BINGO!
Quick! Someone post that Sean Avery video where he calls them out. |
