Missing DeBrincat was especially disappointing because the "old" mentality was to draft the biggest guys but Dubas was suppose to scoop up the small, skilled guys like DeBrincat.

I mean, he scored 51, 51 and 65 goals and three 100 point seasons in a row. How'd Dubas not take a flyer on a guy like that?

I mean, he played with Dermott and Strome (whom they probably scouted when they had 4th overall). It's not like they didn't know he was there...

I think by the time they got to Debrincat they already had so many small, speedy wingers in the systems. It wasn't a top pick, so they went with need over best player.
