NO, you are completely wrong, you need to....
Oh, wait.
Nevermind. - Atomic Wedgie
I'm even more wrong they play 51 games in Canada.
Or is it 61.
No it's 51 |

He's already been cleared of any wrong doing. |

no suspension.
he did however, reach one of his performance bonuses - apparently in his contract he has such a bonus for targeting someone's head at least 5 times in regular season, and then minimum of 1 time during playoffs.
he only needs some additional work to reach his slewfoot bonus for this year. |

Zero.
Because he learned how to hit a guy and get away with it.
Kadri should take notes. |

It could be possible that some players don't want to have to jump through some of the hoops involved and maybe that's where they aren't as into coming to Canada? I wonder how many guys marry Americans and let's face it, women tend to want to be closer to family. Heatly was pretty outspoken about not wanting to play in Canada, although part of his thing was the media. I'm sure there are many factors.
Personally, living where it's warm and comfy with a far less expensive housing market, with no one bugging you all day does sound pretty sweet. - aminnes
Burke isn't a dumb guy. He's been involved in the NHL for a very long time, at many different levels. If he's saying something, he's got a pretty good idea how it works. |

Mike Augello: Leafs sign Korshkov, zeroing in on KHL forward - mikeinbuffalo
Ya that will address the major RW deficiencies. I mean Marner, Nylander, Kapanen sure need the help of a 0.28ppg KHL'er.
How bout you find a way to rid yourselves of Marleau and Zaitsev's to free up 10.75M, then invest in 3 RH Defense. |

There's a good chance one of those RWs is gone in the near future. |

Once upon a time the Leafs had half a dozen guys that would do poop like that and not get suspended.
People around here hate the Bruins but they know how to walk the line. |

Burke figures Matthews and soon Marner want 5 year deals because the taxation situation is way worse than people in Canada realize. He also said in his experience when dealing with players lists of teams they don't want to be traded to all 7 Canadian teams are always on the list because of the high taxes. Said JT is the only major superstar to sign in Canada leaving an American team in at least 5 years while it happens the other way around all the time. Figures they bolt when they UFA.
I'm not saying any of this is 100%, I'm sure there is some truth to it. But if true, that means not only does the cap hurt teams like the Leafs in that they pay to keep garbage losing money teams like Phoenix afloat, but they also can't pay enough to offset the tax difference, and players want to leave or get paid so much that the club has a hard augmenting with more talent around them. - aminnes
Ah well.
Fack matthews, we'll sign McDavid when AM leaves |

Zaitsev, for better or for worse, isn't going anywhere unless something equally bad is coming back the other way. He's the only RHD they got.
Marleau, that guy has got to go. He is priority #1 on convincing him to GTFO. Because he really (frank)s up the cap this year and he's finished. |

We signed him so we have to live with it. There are a lot worse contracts out there. |

It's among the worst, especially considering the huge negative impact it's going to have on keeping much better, much younger players. |

Dude, there's a difference between walking the line and continuously going over it and not having any repercussions. That's what Marchand does. Always has.
At minimum he should've been fined for this because he does have a history and it absolutely has to be on record because he's 100% gonna do something stupid again and has earned a suspension. |
