Still find it so weird that you like Quinn but aren’t high on Jack

Lol nice. Despite his stats I’ve never wanted Dougie. And you are right, Quinn is a lot tougher
- CanuckDon

No wonder everyone in here is afraid of the playoffs. They have penciled in Dougie and Quinn as tough guys.

LE on Green:

From a Province article. Says he likes Canada and the West Coast, wants to keep playing, hard with the lack of ice time, etc etc. He scored two goals against Russia the other day. Maybe they can convince him to waive his NTC and ship him off?

I would just swap his contract for Lucic. They both need a change of scenery and with Hughes in next year we need protection for him and Petey or it's gonna be a free for all on them.

No to Lucic. Ever.

I could see him bouncing back in Edmonton if he drops weight and gets a skating coach, but it’s not worth the risk.

Don’t think LE is a big anchor this year unless they’re looking at signing UFAs or want to get the kids in the line up... but I don’t think any of them are ready for that leap full time.

Send Eriksson to the minors and be done with him, (frank) Lucic.

A guy in the Oiler's thread has suggested we will take Lucic off their hands as consideration for swapping first round picks this year. We get 8th and Lucic and they get 10th. I'm sure that seems fair from his perspective.

I know you guys are pretty anti-Lucic, but here me out if this. We had a guy make an interesting proposal involving Okposo and Lucic that I think is worth exploring. Eriksson for Lucic and a mid-pick/prospect (for the extra year) where both teams retain 2mil of their player's contract.

At that point, both teams can try to trade away the remaining 4mil in cap to another team (either by retaining more or by giving up assets). It enables us to retain up to 4mil of the possible 6mil rather than just 3mil which will increase the number of potential suitors.

Given that Lucic perhaps fits more of a need for you than he does for us and the same is true in reverse of Eriksson, I think it makes sense for both teams to consider.

Alternatively we take it one step further and instead involve a 3rd team (OTT) and get them acting as the intermediary to themselves retain 1.5 to 2mil off each contract.

Lucic has 1 more year and an NMC. LE can be exposed. I would consider Lucic + 8oa + 2020 1st for LE.

I’m interested but the price is certainly higher than a mid round pick. I’d prefer a larger deal that involves your first round pick coming back. Canucks can save you some salary, help rid yourself of the Lucic anchor and add some help on the wings...maybe Hutton could be involved as well.

I don't like it, but I feel like we have to look at the possibility of Lucic-for-Eriksson, the way the cards are falling.

Of course, nothing can happen till the Oilers get their GM and coaching situations sorted. It'll be interesting to see if Eriksson can show some of his old flash at Worlds this year!
