On the plus side, if we trade a first for an old player the whole fanbase will be on the same side for once. harmony

Awesome. Such a Trump thing to say.

I read this article years and years ago about how the WWF once reflect the mood of the American public at the time. Find a common enemy that unites all. Whether it's Iranians, Russians, whatever.

It works until the common enemy is gone then we go right back to eating each other alive.

Thanks Carol, nice coverage.

When you look up the word narrative in the dictionary there is a photo of Jason Botchford. I know a lot of fans here hated his pessimistic take (most of the time), but I always got a chuckle out of how against the grain he could be. RIP Botch.

On a lighter note, I hope someone from the BJ’s stuffs a glove down Marchands gullet, what a POS.

Contrary to media reports, I have not contacted Jim Rutherford about acquiring Evgeni Malkin and have no plans to do so.

why be patient? this team is on the cusp of greatness.

they should be adding pieces that have them contending for the playoffs next season. remember that they were playing meaningful games in march. a few less injuries and they would have made the playoffs this year. i mean that's just a fact!

Sutter's had bad luck, no question. Lets see if he wins a job this fall.

There is going to be more than one guy that doesn't win a job this season. I would bet on him being one of them.

Speaking of Lucic....I’d do a Loui/ lucic swap. Lucic can at least scrap and provide some grit to the 4th line. Loui can’t do anything. Now this hinges on management being comfortable that Lucic can step up his training and not be so pathetically slow. Maybe a return home would motivate him. Lucic also has an extra year on his deal so the Oilers would need to throw in a 2nd round pick this year. Thoughts? Anyone vomit?

Wonder if his contract is slightly less buyout proof?

He is slow and stupid. His hockey IQ is the lowest in the league. We need to be faster and smarter. I don't see who he would fit on a line with?

Loui is slow as (frank) as well. And he had three hits last year. Lowest in the league 🤢

Lucic beagle Motte. Beagle and Motte can skate at least. I hate Lucic but I hate Loui more. Add a draft pick and I’m game

Just checked, Milan’s contract is relatively buyout proof, just like Louis. Might take more than a 2nd round pick

I’m a hard no on Lucic. Dude has cement feet to go with his cement head — Loui is slow, but not as slow.

As well, why would Edmonton want to give up a second or more to get back an equally poorly thought of player?

i kind of agree with you Donny. The kicker for me is that extra year on Lucic's contract over LE. Hypothetically, if EDM added a pick or two, I wouldn't be mad with a trade like that. With Gudbranson gone, we have two smaller D men in our top 4 in 5-foot-9 and 5-foot10 Stecher and Hughes, Boeser and Petey are constantly going to be harassed as the league is now familiar with their skillset, I don't see this as a bad trade IF it were to ever happen. LE has 44 points in 3 seasons with the Canucks, Lucic has 104 in 3 seasons with the Oilers.

You think edm gives a 2nd or more plus taking an anchor?
I think they'd rather just unload him plus a pick to another willing team without having to take back a bad contract (if they really wanted to get rid of him.)

So put the slowest laziest player with two of the faster and hardest working players on the team? Hard pass.
