Speaking of Lucic....I’d do a Loui/ lucic swap. Lucic can at least scrap and provide some grit to the 4th line. Loui can’t do anything. Now this hinges on management being comfortable that Lucic can step up his training and not be so pathetically slow. Maybe a return home would motivate him. Lucic also has an extra year on his deal so the Oilers would need to throw in a 2nd round pick this year. Thoughts? Anyone vomit?

Very sad about Botch. Like his stuff or not he was a father and husband. I lost my wife 10 years ago when our kids were 16 & 13 and it was incredibly difficult for all of us to cope with her loss. I can only imagine how difficult it would be with young kids.

I'll miss his Athletties/provies, IMO they were by far the most entertaining Canucks content (no offense Carol, I read your content to be informed and rely on the posters here to entertain me) even if it was often rooted in rumours and myths.

losing a 2nd/1st to offload a UFA contract imo would be paying "an arm and a leg" for a massive mistake. I think its more likely that a team trades a bad contract/player for a similar bad contract/player and hope a change of scenery does both players good. I can't see EDM giving up a 1st, especially with how poorly they finish every year, or even a high 2nd, for someone to take on Lucic

i mean, in all honesty, I doubt we see Lucic traded out of EDM, or Louie out of Vancouver before their contracts are done. The speculation for either of them traded for each other, in my opinion, is the most likely trade scenario given player ages/contracts though. If I am VAN, i wouldn't be opposed to it, and if I am EDM, I wouldn't be opposed to trying out LE and hoping you get a winger who can help score in a change of scenery. Doubt it ever happens though
