I Think we didn't want Seguin for our 1st overall pick?
Someone was saying Dallas was offering him straight up?
So Lehner and the Isles came back to Earth and is in an interesting situation as a UFA trying to prove this season wasn’t just a fluke and playing behind a stone wall defence.
ROR has been Buffalo “ROR” since late February and is now the symbol of criticism from every St.Louis columnist, coach has even moved him off the top line tonight.
Evander Kane has 43 penalty minutes in 11 playoff games and brought us back Montour as an impending UFA who we weren’t going to sign. Montour > Guhle
I’ll take Montour, 7th OA, Thompson, STL first rounder and the cap space. Short term pain for long term gain.

9 goals in 4 games is perfectly fine, it's a 2.25, and a .930 in the series coming into tonight, but when your team scores 5 goals you've got no chance. This is not on Lehner in the slightest.

Can he repeat this though ? That’s the question moving forward. How much of his stats were as a result of playing behind a Trotz coached defensive trap ? Even Thomas Griess had outstanding numbers and that guy was terrible the year before.

After watching Roope Hintz terrorize STL tonight, you take note of just how badly we've squandered/missed on 2nd rounders and how few players we have who are actually tough to play against.

Let's not forget Greiss sucked tonight too.
Probably most of it is due to Trotz. The point is he shouldn't be blamed just because he used to play for a terrible team where he had a few good years and a few bad ones and now he's "coming down to Earth"; he had one bad game. His team couldn't score. Lehner is a perfectly average starting goalie who plays up, or down, to the team in front of them.
To answer, if the defense stays the same I see no reason why he wouldn't be able to. I'm not saying he'll be a Vezina candidate, but a 2.35 with a .923 isn't out of the question.

Blah blah blah
Meanwhile...
we’re trying to find a 2C & top6 goal scoring winger & a goalie
And if we trade Risto,
we’ll need another top4 RH defenseman
Trading good players for picks who may or may not work out & “B” level prospects is dumb

Over a Vezina finalist, Selke finalist & 30goal scoring winger who brings speed & toughness
You know what we should spend all that Cap Savings on...

To be fair, he's going to be making just shy of $10M a year until he's 35. Is that a good idea?

Watching the 3rd period of the game tonight: Dallas held on for dear life, mainly because even though they continued to send 2 forwards into the offensive zone to attack (commendable), their players made several bad decisions/reads which miraculously didn't bite them in the ass.
