I think there were actually a couple that suggested trading him and others saying we should take the 4 firsts if he gets a massive offersheet.
Honestly, I just don't really believe he'll sign an offersheet and I don't think he'll get so greedy that Dubas has no real choice but to trade him. His agent will push for a hefty pay check, but I think Marner will get signed for something manageable.
What other choices/sacrifices we'll need to make to fit under the cap, I dunno.

If Dubas has brass balls he trades Marner. He is the only guy who will bring a return that the team needs (defence). Nylander will find his game. Or at least improve. There was a reason he was chosen to do this job. Now is the time to earn his stripes. To come back with a lesser forward group due to cap implications, and zero upgrade in the top four would be a recipe for disaster. This team needs to be rocked to the foundation and this would do it. Building cup winners isn't for the meek. This core has been around a few seasons. It just isn't good enough.
Additionally, if they had a guy similar to Matt Martin then Kadri wouldn't be the designated hit man. He wouldn't have to run around like a tool. Kadri and Rielly are best bang for the buck on the team. DO NOT TRADE EITHER

Do you leaf fans ever stop crying. If a Leaf got hit with the elbow Backes did or the
knee by Jenner or the shots thrown by Anderson they would be calling for their usual suspension, suspension. Learn to enjoy big boy hockey instead of crying every time someone gets touched. Both teams got their shots in. CBL were the aggressors, they played hard and physical and the bruins did the same. The leafs should try it.
