Regular season Tavares, no problem.

Playoff Tavares? Not the best this year. 1 non-empty net goal.

And I know, Bergeron and Co. but if you pay a guy 11 million a year in his prime, you want him to overcome the match-up and put up some results.

I feel like the Leafs 4 best players are Matthews, Marner, Andersen and Tavares. Three of those guys stepped up and won 1 game each. One guy didn't.

Just sayin'

Better add 44 too.

2nd leading scorer on the team.

Goals weren't there. That was his job. Especially after 47 in the regular season. He wasn't nearly as dominant as you'd want him to be as an 11 million dollar player in his prime.

Made a lot of things happen offensively but defensively, not very impressive. He'll continue to improve in that area hopefully, especially if he had a D partner worth a (frank).

It's kinda tough to blame Tavares or Marner, they got a lot of D-zone starts against Boston.

Don't win three games in that series without him playing 25+ minutes. Take him out of the D equation. Yikes!

8 years at 10M/yr, get him a Babies'r'us sponsorship and move on
- Symba.007

Pipe dream. They would be lucky to get him at SIX years at 10M. For 8 years, he would fetch 12+

Ek saying Leafs are in on Tyler Myers..

Myers was really terrible last year. He's a big name and is "Big", but he sucks so much

Mirtles article today made a good point, in that the Leafs saw again what its like not having Kadri in important games. And shifting Willie to 3rd line C and him lugging stone hands around does no favors to him or his return to form

So unless they have a very suitable replacement who is as cheap or cheaper..I dont see it

- senstroll

I don't think not having Kadri had anything to do with how poorly the Leafs performed against Boston. Leafs under-performed from about Christmas on - especially on the power play. Leafs basically backed into the playoffs. Kadri was putrid on the power play all year - as evidenced by his PP numbers. I would look to a good solid veteran with skill that you can sign to a reasonable contract as third centre. Staal worked out ok and would be an example, Spezza coming off two crappy seasons might be a bargain. (frank) Kadri.

Agree. They played the whole series in prevent mode defence against the Bergeron line. Never had a chance to establish anything offensively. Thanks to Kadri. I felt with his line matched up to Bruins top line, we would have taken this series. But he never gave us a hope.

Marleau age 30-34 was still averaging 70 points. There is a huge difference between 33 yo PM and 40 Yo Patrick Marlueau

if you dont see how bad Marleau is now, your huge PM boner is showing.

JT should be fine in his early 30s, just like PM was

- senstroll

oh, Patty could always skate though...can still skate for a heavy guy. Of course he's slowing down....so am I.

Another example of a goal scorer that didn't need to skate to score goals
- PatC80

Yep, just heavy on the stick. Don't think he was a center though?

So they have Gretzky or Hunter to choose from, realize that's not good enough and crawl back to Holland?
Doubt he goes there unless the $ is too insane.

Why would you put avocado on toast when you can put it on nacho chips?

These kids today.

Sheesh.
