(frank)ing salary cap.
Look what it does to us.
Here I am wasting my time arguing against Marner getting a higher salary, which is hard to do without disparaging the player in question somehow, meanwhile he's my favorite player. - Thecakeisalie
Yeah..
Mitchy is maybe my fav too.. idk I love them all equally, or try..
But 4 1sts would give them so much flexibility.
This all could have been avoided if Dubas was more firm with Willy, or opened the door to trading him. |

Goals > Assists.
It's always been viewed this way and players that score more get paid more. It's the way it is man. How do you not know this? - Thecakeisalie
68 assists. 52 primary assists.
Whether a guy scores 50 or assists 50; 50 goals were scored because of that player either way you cut it. |

Not really. Marner is a primary assist machine who creates something out of nothing pretty often.
And he always works hard. He plays defense. - JohnFergusonJr
He’s a RH shot. Pair him Rielly. Problem solved. Probably better in the d-zone than Karlsson. |

That door should be kicked open. It clears space and it can bring back defense. |

It’s overall body of work..
Dumbasses on twitter today were saying Nylander > Marner because of 5vs5 play or some poop. That’s the problem, everyone puts too much stock in whatever stat they’re using to prove their point.
The most (frank)ed up thing is that’s it’s obvious to me that the formula to success revolves around strong team chemistry. So everyone squabbling over getting thier share can’t be good for that. Kappys getting squeezed out, you think Mitch gives a (frank)? Nope. People are right, there’s a major cap issue. We can’t sign them all, nor should Dubas try. I love MM AM and WN, but one is to go. And if we can get 4 1sts for Mitch that’s good, let someone else overpay him. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Willie will be gone before marner.
Its just too bad willies value is low right now. |

Nylander right? - Garnie
100%.
Ideally, Marleau retires, Nylander stays 1 more year, has a good year and then gets moved for some real help on D.
Then again, considering the Leafs don't "need" their 1st round pick as much as they use to, perhaps moving their 1st with Nylander is enough to bridge the gap between where his value currently is and where it should be. |

Doesn’t sound like he’s retiring, I’ve set my sites on 2020-2021 of the Leafs making a good run. It could happen next year, but we’ll need some surprises from some Marlies I think. |

You live you learn.
From this point forward, I want Dubas to be an authoritarian. Marner has to get done, and I think they’re willing to go to Matthews’ money. But they’ll have to make some moves and it has to be Nylander. How else would they fit Marner under the cap? |

I might just have to stay away from these boards until Marner is signed because seeing Leaf fans actually ponder four firsts for Marner, that is just beyond anything. I can't even. |

He needs to retire. Enough is enough. He got his chance, he got his money, he's finished. It's over.
The Leafs D next year shouldn't be any better than it was last year. |

Have you done any homework on how players get paid more for primary assists compared to secondary? Or how people with the same number of primary assists get paid the same as those with the same amount of goals?
I doubt it. You're talking out of your ass. |
