That’s a little obvious, no?
They could also all be top 10 picks and they scored a couple future HOF’ers. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Yeah but you totally know they wouldn't be. |

Problem is, you get next to nothing for those two. Zaitsev is an anchor of a contract too.
Nylander, at least, you can get something good coming back. Something that can actually help. - JohnFergusonJr
Does it matter if their value is low? The point is to trade them to free cap space. Yeah Nylander is worth more, he's also by far the best player of the 3 and you'll be trading him with relative low value.

It's all we can do.
He WAS a great player. He's basically like all those other over the hill stars that sign with the Leafs at the end of their career. At least he supposedly is helping mentor our young guys. Sure hope that mentoring is worth all the trouble his salary is causing. - Thecakeisalie
He’s not lighting hit up but he hasn’t hurt us defensively....hopefully he can continue at least that. He’s big and heavy and can still move. Hopefully he sits in the tub of ice all summer. |

The Blue Jackets are competing with a defense with such luminaries as
Dean Kukan...Scott "Waivers" Harrington and Adam "Even More Waivers" Clendening
let that sink in

I’ll take that, don’t see it. But I’ll change my name to NylanderLover is he does. - Garnie
Really? Well you don't have to change your name. Just put that as your location. What's my side of the bet? I could put Nylander Sucks. |

You were just suggesting assists were as good as goals when it comes to salary negotiations. Now you've moved the goal posts to primary assists.
It's common knowledge that goals > assists when it comes to salary negotiations.
I've never heard anyone say that primary assists suddenly is worth the same as goals. Where did you get this from? Is there any evidence to back this up other than your own negative opinions? Now you're spouting something about Kuch or McDavid? - Thecakeisalie

Yeah, they drafted well with the first overall pick and a fourth, and a fifth, and seventh and eighth. Anyway, I know you wouldn't trade Marner anyway and neither are the Leafs so who cares. |

It does matter because it means you'll be getting junk in return, especially for Zaitsev which means it won't really help the cap space situation because it'd be a "bad" contract for another "bad" contract. It's just a lateral move.
And, on top of it, the Leafs are already short on RHD. Trading the only one they got won't help an already weak D. |

Ha ha ha. Okay, so Nylander has career high in points this year, AND thirty goals. Locations to be changed for, let's say after the playoffs, for the rest of the following offseason. I don't want to wear a negative slogan during the playoffs.

That's the thing with Torts. You've maybe got a window for a few years when almost every team he joins plays above their heads for a while. Then I think they just get sick of him and tune him out. |

Sandin, Lilly, SDA, Korshkov, Bracco, Johnsson.. Also finding players in the SHL/KHL you can accredit to a better scouting staff. |

Just 30 goals, if he only gets 1 assist and still pots 30, I’ll change it forever. You only have to change yours for a week |
