Werenski and Jones are so good for them on D and they’re only 23 and 21. Dubois has been impressive too, 61 points as a 20 year old, Boone Jenner as a third line center has been great. Just a good solid deep team with awesome goaltending.

Jones and PLD have been great I've thought. Dubois getting targeted a ton by hacks and punches post-whistle, but he's stood his ground and has some sandpaper in his game. Jones is just a great freaking player, legit number one. Plus his mom is a coug:

I think this was MacKinnons 6 th season in the NHL and he was the #1 pick and made the team as an 18 year old. As good as Petey is, he is no MacK.
- 1970vintage

I would hold the fort on that one. Petey had 3 more points his rookie season with 11 games lees played. Now we know McKinnon is a Mcdavid-level type stud now that we have seen him dominate over the Flames but I'm willing to say Petey will be right there with McKinnon's numbers if not more. Just need to see how Petey handles the tough grind of the PO's like McKinnon has done. If Petey played the full rookie season without injury he would have been over 80 pts which would have been almost 20 points over McKinnons rookie year.

Personally I'm not expecting much change. top 4 D is set for nest year with Hughes Edler Tanev Stecher

LE will probably get moved as he seems to be a problem for Green now.

LE for Lucic is a very real possibility. Gonna be awesome around here.

I don't think Hutton Pouliot or Biega will be back so they need 3 replacements.

I don't believe Lucic is coming here for one moment as a Canuck.

I think they will sign a top 6 UFA

At an older, more mature age with two years of professional hockey under his belt. Don’t get me wrong, I love Pete’s game and I think he is going to be a dominant player, in a very different way than Kinnsey. What I’m saying is that it’s now year 6 for the Aves and he is just now dominating his opponents. He was always good, but now he’s Great!

I hop you are right on all counts but I think we will see Hutton/Pouliot here at least to start next season. No team is going to trade for those scraps. Beige will be up/down.

I don't want Lucic either but people around here need to brace themselves for the possibility. If the club can get assets by acquiring Lucic and his contract I guarantee you Benning will look at it.

Splitting hairs on the issue but 11 goals with Loui and 6 goals from Lucic being buried on the 3rd and 4th lines on their respective teams is what is.

If we lose LE and got Lucic it really won't hurt the club.

But I think you are right doubt it happens.

100% he will be not be here next year. End of his contract, they'll just let him go. He'll get a PTO or go to Europe.

Carol Schram: Is a Milan Lucic for Loui Eriksson trade becoming all-but-inevitable?
With Milan Lucic waxing rhapsodic about the idea of playing in his hometown and Loui Eriksson admitting that he doesn't really get along with Travis Green, will we see these two veterans swap postal codes at some point this summer?

- Carol Schram

Why give up on LE? He has one year less than Lucic. That last year at 6M will be painful. Stick with LE and ride out the contract. At least he can shoot the puck.

I don't understand people saying having Lucic won't hurt this club moving forward. Nucker could not have made it more clear how that extra year with a 6 million cap hit will effect the signings of the future core. "Just bury him on the 4th line" is not a viable answer, in my opinion.
I really hope that Loui's whining gets him of the express train to Utica.

You clearly don't understand that Lucic will protect the young, future stars. He's going to add size & grit plus he is going to mentor Virtanen to be a power forward. This is so exciting!

If both teams retain salary they could be tradeable. Trading Lucic or Loui at a $2MM may be possible. I’d rather get creative and try and gain assets then watch this pos for another 4 years

We all want to see LE gone, but Lucic isn’t a good method. I guess the salary swap is a pretty saavy move if if gets rid of the trade protection/makes them cheaper. I’d rather just give up some picks and trade it to a team needing to hit the floor

I’d be a but surprised if nelson didn’t stay on the isles. These moves otherwise make a lot of sense, i agree.

I’m not necessarily for it and I can’t stand Lucic. I just don’t think it should be dismissed so easily if the move could help add assets
