Lol - nobody “wants” Lucic. Some people want additional assets. Chuck Lucic in the minors. Who gives a (frank)
- CanuckDon

You know Benning will let him keep his NMC.

I think the problem is that not many players want to be the bully anymore. Virtanen certainly doesn't, and Lucic only did it to establish himself in the league - he's got little interest anymore in being that kind of player.

If you want the same brash, fearless energy, you'd more likely find it in an underdog kid with a chip on his shoulder IMO

- WhiteLie

Plus it should cost under 1 mil.

Dude, he can't skate.
- Marwood

Haven’t we already established that there is no room for you in the NHL if you aren’t a fast skater?
IMO, that’s going to be the next big separator in skill. It’s going to be the commodity every GM wants.

That's been the theory for sometime.
It seems like you get a bit of that for a game or 2, fans get excited and then the player can't bring it consistently.

Eg Kassian, LaBate, Kennins, etc.

- dbot

Consistency is always going to be tough, but I think thats where coaching and management come in. Some guys, like Dorsett, just seem to have infinite energy; others need work to figure out what gets them up for every shift or help putting that energy to good use

No desperation here. There's a number of ways that don't involve taking on another 6mil cap hit. We're discussing this because the possibility came up in the news.

If you think the Oilers gain much of anything from swapping 6mil 4th liners, you're beyond the pale.

Catastrophizing our position in an attempt to sway value judgements does no one any good. It's 6mil either way for Edmonton; Loui's is a touch more palatable (hence the value difference), but only a bit.

Let me put this in simpler terms for you. We HATE Lucic and don't want anything to do with him. Eriksson is certainly a disappointment but he's also merely an afterthought at this point.

Oiler fans are the ones proposing the Canucks take Lucic off their hands. If that's the case then the price is going to be a heck of a lot steeper than moving up two spots in the draft and swapping a couple of other disappointments. Just drop it already.

We want your 8th and we will throw in Virtanen. Please confirm.

Thanks Carol and yes I’m on-board with this deal if Edmonton offers their pick

- CanuckDon

Haha dream on. We wre both trading dimished assets. Difference is erikson saidbhe and the coach dont get along and lucic only said he always dreamed of playing for his hometown team. One can return the other really cant if green is still the coach. Oilers prob retain a few bucks to balance diff in term

Umm oilers fans dont make trades, gm does. Real hockey trades dont happen through the fans. We get holland then u might have to add a pick to be honest. Hes that shrewd.

Just an example though, you can potentially get a Simmonds, McQuaid, etc without hurting the team 3 years from now

Also that post was more to show you guys that Lucic isn’t the enforcer he used to be

Just don’t take the Ford off road ...body will get ripped apart from any twig
- Redmile247

You'd be hard lucked to find someone that spends more time in the bush than me. Body is fine... except for the driver side plastic running board that got ripped up by a stump at a remote lake I fish. Wouldnt of happened with metal tubs.

I have a heavy duty aluminum bush guard on the front. Hit a deer a year ago doing about 110km. No body damage. Bush guard took it all... cracked etc but saved my body.

Really?

A swap of 1sts, LE for ML and Edmonton throws in a 2nd wouldnt do it for you?

Who cares about the hit, you bury him if he cant play anymore. At least LE can still play....

- chompsey

He's a POS, don't want him on the team. Has nothing to do with value.

I get so many New body style HD ford owners who are pissed ...the cheap body can’t handle anything but pavement and very little weight on the box
- Redmile247

Handles my camper off road just fine... I even drive endless over big river rocks on the Skeena, through deep creek crossings and up really steep washed out river banks with camper on... dragging a jet boat behind on a trailer... no problems with the body.

Wait, what?

Lucic and McDavid = no

Lucic and some other team taking a percentage of his cap = yes

- NewYorkNuck

Some other team getting Lucic with us eating salary and getting pick/prospect in exchange.

I’d rather not handicap the team an extra year when Bo Horvat will be 26/27 years old

If you want to trade for future assets then they should’ve though of that a long time ago when they were busy trying to make the playoffs

- Nucker101

Bo Horvat is going in a Malkin or Subban trade. Problem solved.
