Yeah I'd agree. Him, Lillybust and Rosen will be fulltime Leafs next year I'd imagine. Sandin, Brooks, and maybe Engvall, Hollowell and Korshkov to follow?
Leafs still have lots of talent not with the big club - walshyleafsfan
Sandin will make the team. |

And he hired a woman.
Imagine being upset that your gm celebrated a championship. - burn
Ignore the fact that he managed the team to a championship, criticize that he whooped it up after. It's magical. |

Careful...this sounds a lot like Marc Crawford vs pat burns....or Paul Maurice vs pat quinn. |

Bracco is good, I think people are doing the same thing with him as Kapanen and Johnnson.
Bracco IMO, looks better than Kap and Johnnson did in their Marlie seasons.
As for Korshkov, he looked good in his first game. If Babcock is still around he will be salivating over him. - Santo_44
Bracco is really good, made a big jump this year.
I know korshkov is a bad word amongst most leaf fans cause he's not debrincat but with his size and apparent skill hopefully he makes something of it. |

Curious, how many 37 year olds have career seasons? And would you be whining about dubus if we kept Mac and he sucked and sparks went on to repeat his Calder performance in the nhl? - mykokes

Although I am the first to point out that London has certain advantages, you still have to give Hunter credit for the job he did there.
I was the first guy to point out that Hunter’s drafting record sucks, but to suggest he has no hockey resume is absurd.
If he is interviewed for a GM position, that speaks for itself. |

I predict Bracco being on that 2nd PP running it like Marner does. His vision and passing is insane.
Korshkov is interesting, I’ve only seen one game so I am interested to see where it goes. But the one game certainly gave me hope that’s for sure.

I realize he played nhl. That isn't any meaning towards becoming a gm of an nhl.
What is his resume then? Becuase that is exactly his resume is ,he bought an ohl team and made himself the gm. Granted he's done very well in that job, but he didn't work his way up from nothing to become gm. The othe guy did.
Which was my point. - burn
OHL and AHL coach before he bought the Knights.
So there’s that... |

Asked already what his resume is, if you're going to argue I'm wrong then provide proof. Did he not buy a team and install himself as gm? Is that not a fact? - burn
I didn’t say it wasn’t a fact, you just omitted some things, it’s all good, par for the course with you.
I’m pretty sure you can google and see how well his team has done and records etc in the OHL, plus some NHL experience now too.
Anyways, have a gooder!!! |

I like Babs.
I’m still not convinced he’s back yet...Dubas didn’t give his coaching staff any praise in the closing interviews when he was given the chance. He’s definitely thinking about it.
He’s a unique thinker...and on one hand he can take the safe route and take the bit of rope he has with Babcock. BUT, if Babs doesn’t get this team further he still looks bad.
On the other hand he can bring in the coach I think he would want in Keefe...which would put the teams success entirely on Dubas. It would be a massive gamble.
But if Dubas really believes in his guy why not? He has a insanely talented team. If Dubas has a coach that he thinks will take this team to the next level then is it really a gamble in his eyes?
He wouldn’t be bringing in a “saviour”. He would just be adding someone to his already top 5 team in the NHL on paper.
If the Marlies win the Calder cup and the amount of Marlies that might make the team...it’s a possibility that shouldn’t be overlooked.
It’s interesting |

I was just thinking it's funny how Trotz went eleven straight years without winning a playoff round, lost in the second round twice, missed the playoffs again, etc. In twenty seasons, he's made it past the second round once. He hands Babcock his lunch man. Lol. |

I agree, I think taking another year of Babcock is a good decision.
But hiring Keefe could be better....
There is a safe option and then their is a more risky option. IMO it’s risky for Dubas and not the Leafs.
There is no reason that any NHL coach should it at least take this team to 100 points and 1st round game 7 exit. |

I once interviewed for a senior position I had no chance of getting, they just needed to interview a certain amount of people in order to claim the process was fair. |

The backup, no matter who he is would not have played a second.
Our coach had a guy on 1 leg playing as much as Auston Matthews and you want to go on about a backup? - RogerRoeper
Again, that was on Matthews, not Babcock. |

Dubas has Ujuri’s way of thinking....I’m just saying to don’t be surprised. Not many GMs our there would do it.
Ujuri fired COY 59 win Dwayne Casey and it has worked out so far. |

Yeah my point really is that none of us really has an idea of how any coach is doing his job because so much of the results are based on context and most of the job is behind closed doors. Just found it funny how so many people became ardent fans of other coaches when it's so hard to judge. It'll be interesting to see what happens. |

His 2016 draft was so bad. Dubas' pick of Sandin is looking brilliant. And he traded down to make it. Amazing asset management. - RogerRoeper
Oh?
Was there a better guy to pick with the 31st pick? Yeah, of course. But the first 4 will (should) see NHL time and the 6th is one of the better Marlies.
Pick 5 has unfortunately had personal poop effect him.
Getting 4, maybe 5, guys from one draft getting NHL time is pretty damn good. Even if only one is a world beater. I remember when I would have loved it if the Leafs got 1 maybe 2 make it to the NHL. |
