Re-sign skinner

Sign Eberle

Risto and a 2nd for Cirelli, Gourde and Callahan

Cut bait with Okposo using the late first. Send Bogo to DJ heaven (fla)- retain up to $2m and give the Blues 2021 2nd if necessary.

Do some other things with the defense (???????)

Profit

Eberle would be a massive mistake IMO

Would you rather be the Hurricanes and make the playoffs 4 times in 17 years and go to the ECF every year you make it and win a cup one of those years, or be a Sharks fan and make it every year and yet to have anything to show for it ? Interesting proposition because the Canes have been irrelevant for such a long period of time.
- Pegullaville

I would rather be fan of a team that has won the cup.

Normally I would have said Hayes, but 4/5 people here don't like that idea

All the Islanders UFA's come with giant flashing red lights. If anyone knows the perils of signing Islander UFA's to long term deals and having them blow up, it's Sabre fans.

Agreed another failed Islander experiment in the making.

I would too. I understand you have to make the playoffs to have a chance but the Canes have been building towards this season for the past 5 years. Solid drafting and smart trades and are peaking at the right time.

This is a good thought process. If Tage can’t get it together by 2020-2021 then all the hate is well deserved.

Nylander has had his time to develop as well and if he can prove me wrong this year and become a factor I’ll happily eat my crow.

Imagine making millions and just wanting to quit. I wonder how many players felt that way playing for Buffalo?

Lehner
Okposo
Ror
Berglund
Konopka
Lieno

Probably a huge list

Unfortunately, players are not penalized for not playing up to their end of an agreement.

Picks 28-31 are allocated to the final four teams left in the in the playoffs, the rest of the picks are allocated by regular season finish. The Blues pick would have been 20 but if the Stars win it would push it down to 19. If the Blue Jackets and Avs win as well it would be pushed down even further. If the Blues win the series however the pick would then be in the 28-31 range.

Edit: That is my understanding. Perhaps I’m wrong as well and someone else can drop some info debunking that thought process but that’s the way I see it.

- Pegullaville

Awesome, thank you for that. Go Stars, Go Jackets. I'd say go Avs too but I want to see the Sharks win it all this year

Hear me out, is TT nose an issue? If he got it reduced would it improve his visibility? He could be the next Lemuix but has just been playing with blind spots.

I understand the reservations on Nylander, he did look like one of the better players at the end of the season though. Given that the rest of the team basically gave up...ESPECIALLY SKINNER (extend the bum) I see him making the opening roster.

I mean out of all the years to win the cup if I were a Sharks fan I’d be thinking this would be their year. Hockey gods seem to be on their side as well with the way they came back against Vegas in Game 7.

As soon as they signed De Haan I figured they were up there with the Preds for having the best d-cores in the league. Slavin has been playing out of his mind. Ron Francis must be sitting somewhere thinking “this is the team I built” for the most part.

Crazy thing is Rutherford drafted Slavic/Pesce

Might be the last good moves he’s made

10 years of non-playoff hockey in a row, might not have completely bottomed out like the Sabres did to get Reinhart and Eichel but a lot of “suffering” went into this season. Hanifin and Lindholm were top 5 picks that were parlayed into Hamilton and Ferland. Skinner and Fluery were selected 7th overall although they got nothing for Skinner. Svechnikov is a stud and a result of lottery luck but without another losing season that doesn’t happen. Necas is one of the best prospects not in the NHL right now. Scamming the Blackhawks for TT and sniping Aho at pick 35 also helps.

It’s nice Blues fans are getting a taste of the Houdini act ROR pulled for 2/3 of his tenure here.

He will be on his fourth team within a year or so

The Blues’ window was this year and next, they aren’t getting any younger. They brought in ROR, Bozak, Maroon, Perron this year with a goalie in the Calder voting and a Jack Adams candidate behind the bench. They only improved 3 points in the standings and are one loss away from their typical 2nd round playoff exit.

8 points in 11 games is bad ? And he was just fine here, by the way, and should still be here. Horrible trade.
