You have to remember that with the exception of maybe Ryan Johansen none of those guys were number one centers for their team when traded.
So who would you target now who are not their teams top Center? - Ross77
That's the million dollar question. Names that come to mind right of the hop are RNH, Andreas Anathasiou, Vincent Trochek, Pavel Zacha, Nazeem Kadri, and Nolan Patrick. |

Only 4K chimed in so I hate the over reaction on twitter by saying 80% of fans thought this or 90% thought that. When In reality it’s 90% of the 4K.

My favourite was Niku getting only 92% to keep. Apparently 8% was Maurice filling out multiply surveys. |

Two trade proposals that I will throw out there:
To WPG: Damon Severson, Pavel Zacha
To NJ: Jacob Trouba
or
To WPG: Andreas Athanasiou, Madison Bowey
To DET: Jacob Trouba |

Rexy many not like it but I think these are realistic as to what Chevy may be stuck accepting. I do think both teams could add at least a 2nd rounder in these offers.
With Trouba one year away from UFA status I don’t expect any home run return out there for us. |

If my options for trading my #1 dman are: A: a solid #4 dman, and a bust forward OR B: A solid middle 6 forward, and a bust dman... I think I take another year of Trouba, and let him walk over those returns |
|
|

Or a "sign and trade" deal could be made involving Trouba. |

Not sure if you watched Zacha in the second half of the season. He seemed to be finding his game, much like Dylan Strome did in Chicago. He might be expendable by New jersey due to them winning the draft.
I think its early to call Bowey a bust. The man is 2 years younger than our messiah in Tucker Poolman and showed great chemistry with Morrissey on Kelowna. Athanasiou a "middle 6" forward had the same amount of goals as that "generational goal scorer" in Laine. He is also familiar to Scheifele.
Just some Ultimate thoughts for Monday afternoon..... |

But since we know Maurice will be back doesn’t that seem to be a bigger waste to walk him to free agency? |

I think that Trouba is overvalued in our market. It’s a case of having rose coloured glasses for your own players and devaluing the rest. If you want to talk busts, one can make that argument for Roslovic, even though we all know his usage was off. |

Trouba is comedically undervalued here! What are you even on about.
His value in hypothetical trades has nothing to do with our opinions. It’s based off of what an NHL GM would see, which is a big, physical dman with top level defence that just put up 50 points |

You make the assumption that Trouba one year from UFA status, is going to sign long term with any team. If he doesn't his value is nothing more than a deadline day rental.

This is fair. It also makes him worth more than people are suggesting here |

Who do you think has the higher ceiling, Anderson or howden? - Ross77
Andersson, but I also think he’s a higher risk. |

Higher risk! How so? I have read some who think howden is better suited long run for the wing. |

A summer trade or draft table trade is worth more than a deadline rental. Teams get a full year to sell themselves to the pending UFA and the player gets familiar with the city. The team also benefit from the player experiencing that the team wants them enough to give up assets for them.
If rumours are true then no reasonable amount of money is going to keep trouba in Winnipeg. Trouba has been professional about the business side and is playing by the rules agreed to with the NHL, he has provided good service to the jets and has earned the opportunity to test the free agent market. All signs point to Trouba not being a Jet in 2020/21, however, there are still good choices available for 2019/20. If trade offers aren't good in this summer Trouba stays until the deadline 2020. At that time a choice can be made about trading or being an 'own rental'. |

My uneducated guess is that he is dealt before the 2019/20 season. Like you kind of say, his value will never be higher, going forward, than now.
Florida (where I've "heard" his g-f is a Doctor), is probably best bet, and plus since the Panthers need to shed some salary probably if they want to go after Panarin and Bob. But Philadelphia and Detroit might also be considered, although not sure what the Red Wings might offer of interest to the Jets (assuming Larkin is a no-go) |

No risk. It’s the good ole boys club questioning his attitude, and making him out to be a project |

If there is truly a rift in the dressing room - a big name may have to be traded just because of that ... ya can't let this type of thing fester
And no - I don't know who FOR SURE that means
There's 25 FA's on our roster ... expect some movement
I think you need to get back into the draft ... gotta keep those youngsters coming in like waves ... simple math - if 1 outa 7 are gonna be solid starters - - - well, ya need a whole wack of em
Unless you can match 2015 again
Rangers Kings Wings Sabres and the Oil ... look there ... left out Devils cause thats #1 overall and left out Central teams |

I think philly going with old school gm and head coach will look to add veterans to their lineup. This could be an excellent opportunity to pair little (would have to waive his nm) and Trouba to philly. Laughton and sanheim plus pick
Or
Patrick and Myers plus pick |
