If they can’t get Johnnson to a deal then they could use him....he turned down two solid offers at the TDL. I can’t remember the exact numbers I read but I think it was 2x2.1 and 4x2.6

So he’s going to want more than that.

Whenever I watch Edmonton games, I really like the way he plays. Works his ass off every shift. Not overly talented or anything, but effort for days.

Khaira would be ok in the bottom 6 but would rather have Kassian over him. Big, physical presence that CAN skate and chip in some. Give the second line a Hyman type on it with him, plus him in front of the net with Matthews ability to shoot and that could be deadly.

Agree with you on Johnsson though. Don't think he really warrants overpaying there at all. Might even try and upgrade on Kap at that too really if both try and get more than they are worth in new deals.

Honestly expecting Dubas with no first rd pick to do something before or at the draft here to get some more picks and pull something off unexpectedly.

This makes a poop ton of sense for both teams I think....

The problem is Katz is a fanboy of the 80's Oilers more than an owner, so he keeps all his childhood heroes on the payroll. I'm shocked Holland would even want to have to deal with answering to guys that have been failing so badly for so long. The only way Edmonton has a shot at improving is if the whole club is gutted. Especially the scouting and development departments.

Yup. He can move up and down the lineup without causing problems. Good defensively. He would be scoring more but that's not his role and he gets zero PP time any more.
