Major difference was Rask was a much better goalie in the series than Bob. Bob is a fraud. tired of hearing about how he's the most elite goalie ever, while Crawford never gets mentioned. DO SOMETHING in the playoffs just once then we can talk.

All I meant was that NHL refs find a way to make up for their mistakes. I really was anticipating another call on that PP but it never happened.
Now 3-0 and Torts is going to lose his mind in the presser.
One observation.....as much as we've complained about Seabrook all year.....Chara is even worse. He looks like he's playing on roller skates. Brutal.
GO CANES !!! - Hawkytalk
OK gotcha yeah this officiating has been very poor which is definitely having a impact on the game. If they made the right call there is no need to make anything up... Talk about a Cluster.
Chara does look slow out there but so does Seabrook with his clown shoes . Man I honestly think they are similar. Lots of hard miles on those bodies. But Seabs has been a Warrior for this Hawks team.
And yes Carolina is the story of playoffs this year. I would rather have them win it all then anyone else!

I bet the TT aligator arms make an appearance if Boston is allowed to forecheck without the fear of penalties being called. |

I guess we'd take Panarin and Duchene huh ? All Stanley has to do if send Seabrook, Anisimov, and Saad elsewhere. Lol

But CBJ had 4 PPs tonite - only 1 for Boston - they got nothing accomplished except for a couple of posts. |

They seemed to have a bit of the Hawks problem when they struggled - A bit stationary and lots of blocked shots from the point. When they did pass through the middle there were a lot of Bruin sticks in the way.

The USA is playing Germany in a practice game tomorrow and I noticed Kahun is playing center for Germany. I know he played some center in DEL before coming over to the NHL and I've wondered if the Hawks could give him a try there. He's not big but he skates and passes well and seems pretty responsible on the defensive side of the puck. Maybe he would be an option to play 3C and allow Stan to trade Anisimov and save some Cap space to use elsewhere. Maybe a 3rd line of Saad-Kahun-Kubalik. |

There is only 2 calls the referee can make on Mcavoy's hit - a 2 minute minor or a Match penalty which results in ejection. There is nothing in the rule book for illegal contact to the head that allows the ref to penalize with a double minor or a 5 minute major.
Match penalty would have been the correct call IMO. McAvoy could still get a suspension like Doughty did in the playoffs when he hit Carrier. Identical type hit. |

Breadman and Bob not adding much positive to their playoff resumes last couple games .
Don't draft the Russian or sign Panarin or Dinzel . Take Cozens looks like he will be the best of the 3 centers ,but a real dart throw between them 3 . Trade down a couple spots and take the Center that left ,like taking the runt of the litter ,always a good dog . |

Then how did Vegas get that infamous major in game 7?
I think they could have called a major (and a game) on McAvoy for an excessive violent hit - they can call majors other than for fighting. No? |

The penalty in the Vegas game was for crosschecking not illegal contact to the head. |

The blood had a lot to do with the Vegas call. Too bad Josh didn't have stiches. |

How do you figure? Panarin is a point per game in the Playoffs this year, and Bob was a big reason why they swept TBL. |

Panarin in the last 4 games of the Boston series - 1+1=2 - not exactly star quality again when the chips were down. |

He is probably already on the plane to Slovakia so he can suit up with Team Putin at the World's starting on Friday. |

You can go the other way with that too. Would anyone be upset if the Hawks picked up Kucherov or Point? They had 2 and 1 point respectively for the Lightning...
Overall Panarin is a huge benefit to have on a team. Do I think he would be big boost to this Hawks team? No. Goal scoring is not an issue. Defense is.

I said last couple games ,when it must win time . Big difference scoring big in a 4 game sweep ,and coming up short in a tough 6 or 7 gamer . |
