I said last couple games ,when it must win time . Big difference scoring big in a 4 game sweep ,and coming up short in a tough 6 or 7 gamer . - oldduffman
I guess. I just don't like cherry picking a few games where someone doesn't put up points. I thought he played a really good game tonight, outside of two times where he was at the end of a shift and still tried to skate it out.

When it counted the most the Bruins and their big boys won 3 in a row vs the Jackets and 2 in a row vs the Leafs. They win on the road at the toughest of times. And their stars show up to play. Unlike a bunch of others around the league who are revered "point producers." And Cassidy knows what he is doing behind the bench.

Panarin in the last 4 games of the Boston series - 1+1=2 - not exactly star quality again when the chips were down. - StLBravesFan
I would love to have Panarin back but watching him in this series I do not think he is enough of a difference maker to warrant the kind of money that has been rumoured. |

And relatively speaking the Bruins' stars are also not obscenely overpaid allowing management and Cassidy a decent supporting cast. |

Major difference was Rask was a much better goalie in the series than Bob. Bob is a fraud. tired of hearing about how he's the most elite goalie ever, while Crawford never gets mentioned. DO SOMETHING in the playoffs just once then we can talk.
LOVE. LIVE. THE. CROW. - kwolf68
It truly is a travesty that Crow will never get the accolades around the league that he truly deserves.
Starting in mid-April, Corey becomes the best goalie in the NHL - and it isn't particularly close. |

I'd love to have Panarin back too, but I would rather have depth in the forward ranks and improved defense. |

Correct. Krecji is their highest paid player at about $7.5M. Backes is their only boat anchor contract. I dont love the Bruins but they are a battle hardened bunch and know how to win. |

The USA is playing Germany in a practice game tomorrow and I noticed Kahun is playing center for Germany. I know he played some center in DEL before coming over to the NHL and I've wondered if the Hawks could give him a try there. He's not big but he skates and passes well and seems pretty responsible on the defensive side of the puck. Maybe he would be an option to play 3C and allow Stan to trade Anisimov and save some Cap space to use elsewhere. Maybe a 3rd line of Saad-Kahun-Kubalik. - EbonyRaptor
Just a FYI to all. The World Championship tournament begins Friday morning with most of the games televised on the NHL channel. Here's the link to the schedule.

100% accurate statement. It is easy to win when you can control the game, and the officials. |

Offer sheet Marner for $10.147 mil AAV. They can have Ilya 😂 - Assman22
If any team will offer sheet Marner it will be the Rangers.
3 first round picks in 2018 with at least two more in 2019. It will be three in 2019 if Dallas wins against St Louis. They can afford to give up the draft picks. |

agreed but Soder can play up and down and on PK....maybe...at an NHL level... - wiz1901
Wiz ..... Turcotte at 3?
Injury plagued player, going to Wisconsin for at least 2 years. Doesn't help us much. Wouldn't Cozens be a better fit? He could step in at L3 center to start the year. |

As far as I know he's had only 1 injury and that was this season. I believe he also missed a few games due to being sick - might have been mono. Hardly "injury plagued". He is committed to Wisconsin but how do you get "for at least 2 years" from that? He very well could leave college and join the Hawks after his freshman season and that's probably the most likely scenario. According to most experts I have heard/read - other than Hughes and Kakko, all the other top players are probably a year away from playing in the NHL so Turcotte spending next season in NCAA is no different than Cozens spending next season in the WHL. |

Remember this when Blackhawks make their selection at #3. Remember how soft they played in the playoff loss to Nashville. Usually the better choice is to go with the best skill player but not when the players are all very good in top tier AND we have few who play tough enoigh. I like the scouting report on the dmen, on Turcotte, even.the jockey Caufield. But to get them is a luxury. The prioroty has to be rough and tumble but some skill too forward. I am uncertain if Cozins or someone else is the answer. But i just mentioned whom is not the players to select

I'd prefer they pick a player with some size at 3, but Turcotte isn't diminutive, 5'11"/194. He's supposed to be a 200' player with a high compete level.
I agree Caufield would be great, but is a bit of a luxury and and maybe not at number 3. If we didn't have Dcat, maybe.
Disagree on "some skill" though. If the Hawks are picking at 3 or even decide to trade down a few picks, they should be drafting the guy they grade out at with the highest skill and they think will be a future star/core player for them.
Pretty sure "rough and tumble with some skill" was the scouting report on Kyle Beach. |

Patrice Bergeron may have a lot to do with that.
In a collective 263 minutes playing against Patrice Bergeron..... Tavares, Marner, Panarin, Atkinson, Matthews, Jenner, and Duchene have been on-ice for a combined 4 goals

Very true, however non of those players you mention did anything else. Remember 2013, when Bergeron kept Toews in check and Toews had difficulty scoring? Toews played hard, he made lives of Bergeron, Marchant, Krejci and Chara just as miserable and helped make it so none of them had much of an impact to the series. Yes Bergeron can shut down a player but it's up to that player to find other things to help the team. Panarin didn't do that. Panarin didn't do anything to make an impact in the series. |

I agree your star players have to find a way when they're being played tight. Just pointing out that it wasn't as if he just put it on cruise control waiting for his flight to the motherland. |
