Do you think they will win? I don't - VANTEL
They need better players. Teams that play with little talent but get great goaltending and are good defensively can win though. It’s only the first week of May, let’s see where they are first week of September.
Look at Lehner and Islanders. |

Frank Seravalli of TSN: Edmonton Oilers GM Ken Holland will likely be looking for a veteran coach and could look at Dave Tippett and Todd Nelson.
I found that to be quite funny considering he coached them for 40 games back in 14-15.
I'd probably go for someone like Dan Bylsma or Todd Richards - manvanfan
McClelland was a pretty experienced coach. I think one day they will realize it is the roster not the coach |

"Ken Holland destroyed my hockey team for a decade" - NorthNuck
4. In the salary cap era, bad drafting is going to kill any team. It certainly killed the Oilers. Mediocre-to-horrendous drafting from 1985 until 2015 crushed the Edmonton franchise. You need a fresh supply of good young players if you’re going to both win and stay under the salary cap.
Don't know if I agree to much else in the article but i'd say he got this point right. |

With the Oilers it looks like a lot of things. Bad drafting, terrible contracts, horrible trades. If not handed 1oa picks, who knows where they would be.
I wonder what Ken Hollands approach is for the franchise. |

I’d take him 20 or later. No chance at 10. He is better than Podkolzin at least |

The more I watched the depth forwards on the NTDP -- Lindmark, Beecher, Caulfield, Moynihan, Farrell -- the more I see players who are the types that EVERY coach in the NHL would want on their roster.
These kids hustle, hit, create chances and drive opponents crazy. |

After watching all the Russia u18 games i'm higher on Podkolzin than ever and hope he falls to Van.
My draft list has changed slightly now that I hope
Dach- Podkolzin- Boldy make it to Van.
If it comes down to Cozens- Krebs- Zegras. Trade down.
Before any jumps off a cliff, I like Zegras. He's a talented player that makes a lot of junior moves and has no freakin clue how to play defence. Crazy skilled but has a lot of room for improvement. He's also very soft.
That's probably why quite a few people don't have them in their top 5 and falling to Van at 10 |

What would you think of letting Edler walk and signing Kronwall @3 mil x2? |

If Edler is getting 3 or 4 years then I’d rather have Kronwall for 2 instead |

Getzlaf is also a much bigger guy.
Jake really isn't that big. He's basically avg NHL forward size with a slight bit more willingness to hit someone. |

If Zegras falls to 10 I would be jumping for joy, I don't think Newhook is a better option at all, and I am not sold on Lavoie. |

This
Go draft some bigger kids after him if you want, but you can’t pass up on Zegras’ skill/speed/IQ at 10
He’s likely not going to make it to 10 anyway |

If Zegras, Boldy, Dach and Pod are gone at 10, I am 100% ok with a defenseman as the BPA. |
