Lou is a stubborn negotiator so nothing would surprise me - Nucker101
He also may not like the defence-first system that Trotz demands.
Wishful thinking, yes. But he's probably a better fantasy target for us than Panarin. |

I bet you only fantasize about 6s and 7s as well. |

[quote=neem55]Wennberg is a tiny skill player. Maybe could be a LW though.
Why not offer stupid money on a shorter term contract (say 4 or 5 yrs instead of 7) to Anders Lee? Size, skill, grit, veteran leadership to replace Sutter in the mentoring dept, etc. Minnesota boy. Good match for Brock and Petey? - YeOldTimer
I love Lee, dont think he will be leaving the island. |

It would be a great pickup if we could snatch him away. Good winger for Bo - NorthNuck
Maybe even better for Ep, that puck protecting style could go a long way with the two kids |

Really? We have Ep/Bo/Ag/ABeagle/sutter... we need another?! - neem55
I'm not sold on EP being a full time centre considering the time he's going to be on the ice. I'm old school so still believe your centres have to be big, fast, and aggressive on the forecheck.
I think Beagle and Sutter's skill set are replaceable. So that leaves Bo and AG. Not that inspiring. |

Yup.
Karlsson and Panarin (and Bobrovsky) will be the big prizes and....drumroll....Not coming to Vancouver!
I see Vancouver going hard after a couple tier 2 free agents and probably over paying.
Eg Myers or Gardiner on D.
Duchene and Skinner will likely price himself out of range.
PAvelski could be someone Jim targets (and i'm sure would cause fits in here).
Otherwise Anders Lee, Kevin Hayes or Dzingel would be a nice fit.
I'd also kick the tires on Eberle, Brock Nelson.
I'd stay clear of Simmonds, Chiasson, Ferland (players i was interested in) for injury or 'career year' reasons. |

EP is not going to be swtching positions, so your beliefs are a little irrelevant. Beagle and Sutter arent going anywhere (maybe sutter, not Beagle imo. |

I’d be down for Pavelski as a loaded short term contract veteran leader but I’m guessing he wants that elusive cup so I see him signing with a playoff team
Like 2 years at 16-17M total
Better than signing Nelson or Ferland for 6 years imo |

I agree, except, I am not sure Gaudette will be effective enough at this position either. Time will tell.
Nothing wrong with having 6 or 7 players that can play centre, on the roster. I believe several teams do, including the Islanders. |

Fair enough. Pricetag on wennburg will be fairly steep id think but i wouldnt hate it |

Just draft Lavoie, he is a top 6 forward that can play centre. |

That’s the thing about acquiring centers who will mostly play wing on your team, you’re paying a premium for their position without totally benefiting from it.
If Wennberg was just a pure winger like Sven, he’d probably be a lot easier to acquire. |

Yeah, i'm warming to the idea of Pavelski,
I think you're right, he'll want to chase that cup, or else he'll want some term and $
i'd not be surprised to see JB overpay and give him 5 x 8m. |

I think they'll be in tough to resign all there up and coming forwards e.g. Timo Meir, Kevin Labanc, Donskoi all are set to get hefty raises.
Jumbo Joe is a UFA as well.
Plus, if they decide to keep Karlsson...I think they'll have to make tough decisions.

Ya, not a good call at all. Seems like a suspension-worthy hit. Head the principle point, leaves his feet on the upward motion |

Boston is my other team, I thought that should be 5 and a game. Head was clearly principal point of contact. |

Shouldve been an easy 5. I'm sure he'll get a game for it but it might be in the 3rd round... |
