A timeout seems harsh.
They should pay McAvoy reparations for this inconvenience to him.
McAvoy will remember some mean things Kadri said to him and tell Parros.
I think Naz gets 4 games. |

Naz is gonna be out for the rest of the playoffs. |

so basically (unless can and will trade both Marleau and Zaitsev - highly unlikely) the decision for Leafs is to:
keep 1 of Kadri / Nylander for #3C.
keep 1 of Brown / Kapanen / Johnsson for 2nd line winger with Matthews.
is that fair to say? |

Well.... he has to learn, and a good timeout can be a life altering experience. |

that sucks...if you have to get rid of good players to keep bad players.
But Nylander as a #3 C is a waste if he has to play with Brown or Marleau.
Imo, I suspect one of the things Dubas will discuss with Babs (since they are all chummy now) is playing Nylander with Matthews...forever |

last summer most leaf fans got upset and scoffed at trades for nylander.
now they probably can't give him away.
another first round exit and followed by cap hell. - sensmelon
rest assured that the Leafs fans feel terrible....
like you'd feel if your team had thrown away a lottery pick at the top of the range of a few months of Duchene.
like you'd feel when the best player in franchise history (which is very short) is traded for very little after the owner was too cheap to resign him
like you'd feel if the best home grown forward was traded to Vegas where he happily resigned
like you'd feel if you lost EVERY playoff series every played against the Leafs even when heavily favoured...
kinda that bad....
are you coming back? |

So tired of this Jacob's family narrative. This billion dollar league isn't in on some conspiracy with the refs to let things go for a team that isn't the highest in revenue or in TV share. They also sure as poop aren't doing it when they're being paid 1.25B for two new teams to come into a league. The league has a refereeing issue. Bad calls have gone in all directions these playoffs. We've gotten tough breaks and have been given breaks as well. I'm not here to tally them into some hypothetical score sheet, but these things go both ways. It's just brought up when they go the Bruins way and totally ignored when it goes against them.
If you have a problem it's with the quality of refs this league is generating, which has been called into question in many publications. All the refs on the ice missed a puck go into the netting, which led to a goal - you can't get much worse than that when you're in game 4, away, and facing a 2-1 series deficit. - RickJames77
I get it.
Leafs fans on here constantly whine about the reffing...every single game.
But.
Boston gets away with soooooo much.
Its truly unbelievable |

Rick has to understand that those two guys are basically the image of Bruins-fans and the Bruins for other team's fans. Keeping that in mind, I don't think it is hard to imagine why people would dislike the Bruins that much.. - MaximusAurelius
They are easy to dislike, for a whole host of reasons.
They are also playing some fantastic hockey right now. I think that is getting lost in the narrative of the Bruins "getting away with another one".

It does look like Nylander needs matthews to prop him up a bit. Its not as if Marleau and brown are ahlers, good players make others better. |

i just watched the hit for the first time now and thats a hit to the head.
So i assume the League suspends that. But who (frank)ing knows.
It should be a few games if the League wants to get head hits out, but the problem is as long as you can throw checks, I dont see how you can avoid it. you have tall players and short players crashing into each other. And player skating hunched over, their head is vulnerable. cant avoid it all the time |

I thought Dubas was firing Babs right after the Marlies are done?
I'm so confused, I do like Keefe and hope he takes over when Babs does go. ( I'm a little bias ) |

Matthews produces more with Nylander also. but anyways
Marluea is a corpse on skates..play Nylander as #3 center..but dont complain when he cant put up 60 points

The answer is simple.
Nobody can (frank)ing believe what the Bruins got away with for as long as anyone can remember. Even a guy like Marchand, with one of the league's longest rap sheets seem immune to being suspended now.
At some point, people just start wondering why.

I prefer him as a winger honestly. Less responsibility for him so he can simply concentrate on his own thing.
I do like willie with matthews. If youre gonna pay a winger 7.5 per, put him on the top too lines. |

I'm trying to understand the application of LTIR and using Horton - the Leafs can go 10% over the cap in the off-season. So if the cap increases to $83m, they can go up to $91.3m, but they need to get down to $88.3m, because they can place Horton's $5.3m on LTIR relief, bringing them down to the cap ceiling.
So, if that's correct, then they have about $6m to get Kapanen and Johnsson signed, and would trade Brown. This assumes they let Ennis, Gardiner and Hainsey walk. It also assumes Marner is signed for around $9.2m and you fill the D with Sandin and Rosen, and carry only 21 skaters . . . . so it's paper thin.
