You mean like kap who played a lot of games with matthews and got a career high 20 goals?
Or AJ who played with matthews and got a career high 20 goals? - Fakepartofme
(frank)in Ennis would get 26g 60pts playing with Matthews |

Personally, I don't like bullies - in particular when they do that in the context of a group.
I don't like people with violent tendencies in general. |

I don't want to see a team like Florida in the playoffs either. Although, it would make both of their fans really happy. - PatC80
FLA makes the league look like a joke.
But it would be on the list of top 5 teams if most want to play for. |

I feel like Habs fans and Leafs fans are two side of the same coin.
Except for all the winning cups over the years thing of course....
Bruins fans are hideous (except Rick, I like him) and Sens fans are the goddamn worst.... all 20 of them yes! (Except David, he's cool). |

babcock was right when he put Ennis on Matthews' line start of the season
in all seriousness, I really hope Matthews gets a new LW that is capably of helping Matthews as much as Matthews can help him.
Johnsson is a fine player, but no arguing that Matthews misses Hyman on his line. |

Ken Holland is not bringing Kenny Hitchc0ck back.
The question to ask then is;
What do we think of Keefe coaching the Oilers? |
|

redemption yes.
but I wouldn't trust them with some tasks or give them equal opportunities as some others - for life. |

I like it..
He’ll be a Leafs plant, clearing a path for McDavid to join the Leafs in the future. He can get Connor playing Babcocks systems while he’s still an Oiler. |

That didn't work out.
I realize the statement is basically hyperbole, but out of everyone Ennis played more than 30 minutes with, he had his worst production numbers with Matthews. He had his best with Connor Brown.
So clearly there's something wrong with Ennis. |

Nice city though. Always have fun when I go to Boston.
I thought the Bruins played very goddamn well vs Columbus, they're the favorite to win the cup imo.

He's got such a difficult task ahead. Who to buy out and whether it's worth it. What to do with Pujujarvi (probably spelled wrong), Lucic, literally no wingers which is why they have centers playing the wings (Draisaitl, RNH), a bottom pairing that's making WAY too much, a weird contract to a goalie that was made the day before the GM was fired, a cheap backup to that goalie, but not so cheap because said goalie played like poop down the stretch, Sekera and if he can stay healthy, and on and on. I don't think Chiarelli could make a team that bad both on ice and contractually if he actually tried. |

Dom Lu(insert every consonant here multiple times) from the Athletic has them at 43% and the next closest is the Canes at around 20. That'll change by Thursday though if the Blues and Sharks win. |

so basically (unless can and will trade both Marleau and Zaitsev - highly unlikely) the decision for Leafs is to:
keep 1 of Kadri / Nylander for #3C.
keep 1 of Brown / Kapanen / Johnsson for 2nd line winger with Matthews.
is that fair to say? - MaximusAurelius
Depends what they want to do on the back end and who you believe in terms of how much $$ Marner, Johnsson, and Kapanen will get.
Hypothetically ....if Marner gets 9.5, Kapanen 3.0, and Johnsson 2.5 they probably have to move two contracts. They'd be about $1.7 over the Cap with a defenceman to add.
Marleau doesn't sound like he's going anywhere ...NZ sounds like a long shot and they'd probably have to eat money and replace him meaning are the savings even worth it? Maybe ...
I don't Kadri being dealt. Nylander would equate to instant cap freedom b/c of his $$ but I think they only do it if they get a deal they can't refuse.
Brown is the easiest to move. You replace him with a min. wage earner and you've saved about $1.2.
I think the easiest route is likely that Brown and one of Kapanen/Johnsson get moved. That'd leave them with about 3.5 to sign a dman and 3rd line fwd.
Maybe toss some 1 yr performance bonus laden deals at a couple of 35+ types to fill in those holes.

Teams with a poopty building and low attendance shouldn’t be making the playoffs with any regularity.
If the NHL said publicly that they’re thinking about relocating a franchise with low attendance, then they’d generate a ton of revenue from desperate fans. If you’ve been warned and still don’t get attendance up, then you deserve to get moved. The Islanders made the second round, if they’re hemorrhaging money, I’m sure there’s a smart business man somewhere in the NHL who’s not happy about that. - Arctic_AARDVARK

Brown could be moved in a second. I do believe with some work Zaitsev can be moved as well. It doesn't have to be the big names everyone always mentions. |
