his track record on trades really isn't that bad.

Very true.

He's done very well with trades so far.

His UFA signings, the players he let go and the draft (especially for the first few years of his tenure as GM) were not that great.

Meh. 50/50 at best. He may have saved his job last summer with 2 trades.

I had an hand-me-down Aerio from my mom until it got smashed at a redlight on Delorimier by a videotron service truck

I'd say he's done way better than 50/50.

I'm having trouble seeing a trade he significantly lost. While the wins are obvious.

Good point... not a fan of the Sergachev/Drouin deal but I wouldn't say it's a clear lost yet

Drouin, Weber, Shaw stands out for me. Waiting too long on Tinordi.

Not a lot of good moves there before last summer outside Petry and Danault. A lot of plugs and depth moves.

Agreed, Pk had one heck of a season this year, add to that he is well respected in Nashville's locker room

The only trade i hated was Shaw since it was crystal clear that one of Debrincat and Girard would be available...

Weber is not slowing down at all. I'm glad you are in Nashville locker room and know what's going on here.

Subban has more value on the trade market than Weber. Way more. Now if you don't like him, that's fine but it doesn't change that.

I'd take Sergachev on defense instead of Drouin as well.

Drouin and Weber are certainly the controversial trades. you're reaching on Shaw. he's been a useful player, and the assumption that Montreal would have drafted Debrincat is not part of the equation. as for Tinordi, um... what?

You think Shaw is worth 2 2nd round picks? I don't, even if I think Shaw is usefull. We now have a rebuilding team. I'd take the prospects over Shaw.

About Weber. We were told that trade would make us better short term and even a cup contender. Not really what happened, right? A lot of people can't stand Subban, so they don't analyze the trade properly. Subban makes more sense on a team trying to rebuild. You don't like him? Fine. Trade him for younger pieces.

As for Tinordi, like it or not, he was a first round pick. Don't wait forever so his value goes down so much that you trade him for (frank)ing John Scott. That is poor assets management. Yeah, blame Timmins all you want, but I'm not sure he's the only one to blame.

And Tatar.... the trade that went down was much better than I expected considering MB's track record when it comes to trades.... was hoping for Vilardi from LA at the time but he had an injury plagued season so it worked out pretty good so far
- obie

So you think he has a bad track record and yet you want him to trade most players on the team... gotcha

Subban's new team wants to trade him. Again.

You don't hear that from Montreal with Weber. You hear the complete opposite.

I don't accept this as a trade Montreal lost.

Sergachev has plenty to prove before we can say it was a bad trade. Right now? The guy shows flashes of brillance but is having ALOT of trouble defensively. He's being sheltered by Tampa until he can prove he can handle his own.

I'm willing to say we paid alot for Shaw. Though he if plays the rest of his contract the way he has last year, I'll have no issue with it.

Him and Teasdale being 1 and 2 on the CHL playoffs points leaders just sets us up for bigger disappointment.
- stinger67

both will be in Laval next year, expectations are not that high for Teasdale I would think, they say he is a hard worker but slow, his game might not translate to the AHL/NHL. Suzuki is a 1st rounder, he will be in the NHL at one point, can he be as productive with the pros, we will see.

Please show me where i said Weber isn't slowing down? As for the locker room echoes i suggest you to read TheAthletic and The Hockey News since you seem to be quite the naive type.

Yeah if Drouin keeps on playing 1 game out of 3, i would prefer Sergachev, but it's quite early to give an edge on this one.
