Taylor Hall was traded for Adam Larsson
Your point? - OneKaneOneCup
Taylor Hall also recorded a 90 point season on a team where the next closest player had 35 points less then he did. Points don’t matter though I guess even though they are related to team goals scored. |

Primary points
Skinner 38
Tkachuk 32
Sure, Tkachuk is better on the PP and racking up those secondary assists with Johnny Hockey and Monahan.
Maybe if Rodrigues buried a few goals while Skinner was on his line or the Sabres PP was better his point totals would look better.
But hey, we get it, you don’t want to pay him 9 mil so you’ve been acting like he’s an average second liner for months now. It’s bizarre |

661 games played, 244 goals, 198 assists, 442 points. Over an 82 game season that maps out to:
30.26 goals-24.56 assists= 54.82 points. He is an average to above average 2nd liner. |

There’s 0 reasoning with this.
Dude had 40 goals and he’s an average 2nd liner |

Only 18 LW had more than 54 points this year.
If he’s an average 2nd liner I’d expect about 40-45 LW would have +54 points, no? |

Had 23 assists too. 63 points playing with a superstar in the NHL. He averages 30 goals a year, no different then JVR, Pacioretty, Hoffman who we also could of acquired this year. He is a small upgrade from E.Kane and that is the honest truth. |

There are several 3rd line forwards and depth defenseman that put up more then 23 assists a season. |

Also had a 1 goal in 22 game stretch too for the first time in his career. Looks like there is a first for everything. |

If you think he’s close to Kane you’re an insane person.
We watched Kane here for 3 years fail to gain any chemistry with Eichel and go from line to line ruining chances and taking penalties
Jeff Skinner comes here and scores 40 goals. Period |

Right so that makes 39 goals in his other 60 games.

Is this hypothetical legal:
Duchene signs on July 1, for 7 years, 9 mil with Ottawa.
July 2, Ottawa trades Duchene at 50% retained to the sabres for our late first - the draft is before that, so ignore the specific pick. Just the concept - jcragcrumple
While it's probably legal, the league would almost certainly take issue with it.

Last two years Skinner has 46 ES goals to Tkachuk's 28. I agree Tkachuk is better but it's really only because Tkachuk is slightly above average defensively and Skinner is what most one dimensional forwards are, bad. - Sabresfan-365
Um Skinner has 52 and Tkachuk has 37.
I’d take Tkachuk 100xs out of a 100 over Skinner. |

While I don’t disagree, we could use 2 players like Tkachuk more. |

Which is fine if you feel that way. I’d disagree
But the fact of the matter is Skinner was top 3 in goals until Eichel got hurt and he messed up his ankle.
Hes top 3 in 5 on 5 goals over the past three seasons.
It’s a must he’s kept |

Average 2nd liner - OneKaneOneCup
Reinhart had more points, is his 42 assists somehow discounted ? It’s all fine and dandy that Skinner scored 40, however his 63 points ranked 86th in PPG this year and no matter how you slice it that is above average 2nd line production. Whether he scores 40 goals and has 23 assists or scores 33 goals and has 30 assists it’s still 63 points. |

Well considering there are 31 teams with 3 “1st liners” which would make 93 1st liners, no it’s not 2nd line numbers of any kind
And considering there are a few d men like Rielly and Burns there then it’s more like 84th. Maybe even lower
But go on |

How many had more then 54 points ? Cause that is his career average over an 82 game season which is inflated with this past seasons totals.

You aren’t going to make the argument that goals and all assists are equal, right?
Who would you take, Ovechkin or Wheeler? Ovechkin hasn’t had 40 assists in about 10 years |

You mean the career average that he coincidentally produced much more than when given ice time with Eichel?
He played on our top line. He scored 40 goals and 63 points on our top line.
Like who gives a (frank) about career average |
