I wonder if 7 and the pick between 28-31 could be packaged to move up to the Hawks pick at 3. Turcotte would be perfect here, he would be our Bergeron.

I’d love it. Not sure the Hawks do it, but Shouldn’t be too far off.

Better to give fringe kids a legit shot than to play career AHLers that we know for sure have no future here
That’s how i see it
But the Sabres Mgmt has disagreed with me the last few years on that

Are you disparaging the immortal Remi Elie here?!?!

I used to play a lot of rugby.

I've seen lots of separated shoulders. I *had* a separated shoulder.

What happened to Nathan MacKinnon a bit ago is a separated shoulder.

Turcotte is a Chicago native, it just makes too much sense for him to be the pick at 3 with the skill set. Hawks will have their new Kane and Toews in Turcotte and Debrincant.

This makes no sense to me but I enjoyed reading it.

Out of context it's pretty amazing.

I really just don’t get it

I’m not saying to play kids that aren’t close to ready
But if they’re on the fringe,
then give them a legit shot

Instead, we got to see the Seth Griffith’s of the hockey world
Ugh

Elie was drafted ahead of both of them, has had more success at the NHL level, and got claimed off waivers. That's 3/3 over the other two, and he's not in the NHL either. Not everyone makes it.

Chicago hasn’t selected a forward in the first round since 2014. They have Boqvist, Jokiharu, Krys, and a few others in the pipeline. Going down the middle makes sense for them.

NJD-Hughes
NYR-Kakko
CHI-Turcotte
COL-Dach/Cozens
LAK-Byram
DET-Dach/Cozens
BUF ?

Sabres would have their pick between Zegras, Krebs, Boldy, Caulfield or even Podkolzin but I think the Russian is falling fast.

I think Byram could go 3rd
He’s RH too, so that’s gonna push him up draft boards for a lot of teams
I wouldn’t be upset if we took him 7th if he falls
RH defensemen are so hard to find

Bryam is a LHD, possible he goes third though not discounting that.

My bad on that
Had just read a mock draft that said he was a righty

Chicago might be very tempted at a potential
Byram-Boquist top pairing for years to come

It’s definitely possible. It’s open season after the first 2 picks. Those guys in the 3-10 range could go in any order and it wouldn’t surprise me.

Podkolzin is such a wild card. Talent-wise, he's a clear #3. Things round out much better for us if he simply goes there.

Agreed
It’s almost impossible to project this year
And there’s almost always a surprise or 2

Even if the first 6 picks ended up like I mentioned the talent available at 7 is exciting. We are getting a potential 1st line talent with a 2nd line impact forward floor.

Don't forget:

Spin-rama on a break-away in the opposite direction of the goalie and take yourself into the boards and completely out of the play

Toradol is a hell of a drug. Seriously, I had some a couple weeks ago, it's wonderful how fast it kicks in and makes joint/muscle pain go away.

Sure, but if it goes that way (and Podkolzin's contract situation completely excludes him), it's a tier down from my novice research. I'm still hoping Cozens or Turcotte slip.

Yes that would definitely be nice if one of them fell.
