These are all great reasons why the Leafs shouldn't be in on Subban.

He's always been over rated, especially defensively.

He'll get 9 million again.

But Nashville, who just last summer signed Ellis to an 8 year extension, will trade Ellis this off-season? Is that your line of thinking?

Maybe Boston is just a really good team.
I read on here how Heavy Columbus would fare better since they play the right game for the playoffs...or something

they lasted 6 games.

Its an overreaction to a coin flip series. Dubas will stay the course and keep plugging away at building a deep skilled team. He hasnt really got his stamp on the Leafs yet

- senstroll

Impossible.

If the Leafs were tougher they would of won game 7.

Teams don’t win game 7 without beating tuff

Gudas is better than Polak.

I didn't say they would. I said they'd be better off getting Ellis than Subban.

Whether they actually do it or not is unknown. Maybe they would because they need more offense. Maybe they signed Ellis just because it was a way to keep a valuable asset. The Leafs signed Nylander, doesn't mean he's going to stay.

If the Leafs are moving a young guy like Nylander, you'd hope they get a relatively young guy coming back and/or a guy who isn't going to become a UFA or a future liability.

Not sure if that's directed at me, but even if it is, I still think Gudas is better than Polak. If it's not...

Without him, they're really (frank)ed.

So obviously yes.

- JohnFergusonJr

Well they have been (frank)ed with him.

IF Sandin keeps playing like this he will be ready to be inserted into the lineup next season.

We'd be better off, if we had McDavid too.. Doesn't mean it's gonna happen..

If Subban is available, we should definitely go after him.. There are not a lot of RHD that are better than Subban and he can take a lot of pressure off of Rielly.

polak was so god awful he played 20 mins of steady eddy hockey for the Dallas stars a game, but not good enough for the Leafs. He would have been useful against the Bruins taking cheap shots at the Leafs top player.

we can find a bottom pairing RHD that can kill penalties. I think we need to bring in a d-man that can play with Rielly. Meaning, we would need to get 2 defensemen here.
- PatC80

We need a D to play with Muzzin.

Someone that can play against top comp.

Rielly doesn’t playa against top comp as much as people think...because he is best at attacking and moving the puck up.

Look at Minny’s centre depth and tell me how they wouldn’t at least be interested in a deal centred around Kadri for Spurgeon.

Other than his poopty Game 7 stats, 90% of that isn't his fault.

Andersen is the best goalie the Leafs have had since Belfour. Probably better than Joseph and Potvin too.

Not towards you

Gudas is better than Polak. Way better it’s not even close.

Just because he’s big and hits doesn’t mean he’s Polak.

Question becomes, who does he replace?
On the left side, we have Rielly, Muzzin and Dermott..

Goalies have bad games.

He was great for that series, he played like poop in game 7 but I don’t think it means he’s a bad game 7 goalie. I don’t believe in that crap.

He’s shown he can.

If Sandin shows he is ready so be it. If not Dermott can play the LHS.

He was pretty bad last year. He was way better this year, less moving around and more centred. I wouldn't say he's Joseph but they can win with him, need a way better back end though.

If that's the case they really need one top 4 righty and then a depth righty.

Next you will say Williams is mr game 7

It’s a game. You have good games and bad games. A game 7 doesn’t deserve its own stat line.

Spurgeon would be a good fit too, he can handle top minutes and doesn't panic with the puck.

I personally think Kadri should be traded, after back to back suspensions.. This years loss against Boston was more Kadri's fault than anyone else's.

I think he will be shopped but only for the right price.

They won’t trade him for the sake of trading him.

You "believed" Leafs in 5.

Doesn't change the truth though.
