I think he will be shopped but only for the right price.
They won’t trade him for the sake of trading him. - Santo_44
Spurgeon and Zucker for Kadri, Brown and a B-level prospect.

You "believed" Leafs in 5.
Doesn't change the truth though. - JohnFergusonJr
I "believe" I took you seriously, once.
If Subban is available, and you can fit the cap hit in, why would you not make a move for him?

If you think that’s related to the topic then you are not very bright.
Look at the stats.
You’ll see some players have had hat tricks in game 7 and then -3 in the next. Some will be great for two and bad for two. Some will be a healthy scratch for one then the OT hero the next
Or you can zero in on one sample size and call it a fact. It seems like that’s the way you want to do it.
Not the smartest way to do it. |

Adding brown and a B level prospect doesn’t get you Zucker. |

I hope it could, Zucker had a down year.. Minnesota has a lot of players on the wrong side of 30, they could use some younger players. |

Because he's over rated. And could quickly become a distraction rather than a solution.
He's not bad (like Gudas) but the Leafs should aim to do better. |

We'd be better off, if we had McDavid too.. Doesn't mean it's gonna happen..
If Subban is available, we should definitely go after him.. There are not a lot of RHD that are better than Subban and he can take a lot of pressure off of Rielly. - PatC80
Did you see Wedgie's post about trading for Subban?
People underestimate Wedgie's smarts, because he's so good looking and has such a large richard.
But the dude really comes up with good hockey trades.
And he has a huge richard. |

Yeah, I know about the huge richard from "first-hand" experience. I can vouch for the good looking part and the huge Richard too... Wait, what are we talking about again? |

We're talking about drinks, dinner and dancing.
What happens after that is strictly off the record. |

polak was so god awful he played 20 mins of steady eddy hockey for the Dallas stars a game, but not good enough for the Leafs. He would have been useful against the Bruins taking cheap shots at the Leafs top player. - aminnes
Interesting stat;
Last night, the shot attempts were 38-7 in favour of St. Louis with Polak on ice for Dallas. |

Subban? There's no cap space. They have to remove millions just to get a full roster for next year. |

Wait, Polak was on the ice alone against 5 blues? WTF were they thinking? |

Smart way of avoiding the debate.
Keep believing game 7 is some sort of magical fairytale land.
What’s Andersen’s stats for game 5?
Or game 6 when facing elimination?
All such important stats. |

Unlikely.
That kind of package gets you Larsson, Benning and a draft pick.
Brown and a B-prospect doesn’t have the value of a top 6 forward locked up for 6 years.
Would you do Muzzin and Kadri for Spurgeon Foligno and a pick?
It’s essentially what you are offering. |

I actually like your idea of Larsson and Benning.. They are both RHD.
Also, no I wouldn't do that trade.. It's wishful thinking on my part.. Zucker had a down year, but he's still only 26 and would fit in nicely with our core group here. |

It's actually worth noting that his only really bad game was game 4, when they had the chance to up 3-1. |

You're right. I didn't have the 1.2m retained for Kessel. They could do shifty cap movesby shuttling waiver ineligible guys back and forth to the Marlies during homestands. But really . . .they're better off shedding at least $1m out of there. - Monkeypunk
Marner is not signing for less than 10. Daddy will make sure of that... |

Nashville just signed Ellis to an 8 yr/$50M deal, why would they trade him now?
Subban only has 3 years left on his deal, plus he'll be pushing 33, he won't get $9M again - PatC80
And we just signed Nylander to a 6 year deal, and already talks of trading him, what's the difference?
Just because a player signed a new contract doesn't mean they can't or won't be traded.
That being said, I can't see Nashville trading Ellis. Would be nice if the Lsafs were somehow able to get him though.
