Well hello Petr Mrazek. - Wildschwein
Wouldn't mind him. Be curious to see what Lehner goes for after I was onboard with picking him up last offseason. I get a feeling it'll be Elliott. |

Price will be high on Lehner after the year he has had.....Elliot wouldn’t surprise me.....if Holland talked to teams I wonder who he would be looking for |

I'd support approaching San Jose about Aaron Dell and we might be able to swap cap problems with Florida and grab Reimer (Russell for Reimer?). Jack Campbell might also make some sense with Petersen coming up and Quick still being around for a bit. Comrie or Jarry might also be good bets in the unproven category. |

If Florida is seriously making a run for Bob and Panarin then they won’t be looking to take on anymore salary......Dell or Petersen would be interesting

That axe has quite a bit of work to do....well I guess it’s already started with Hitch

Could also attempt to trade for Greiss. One year left @ 3.33 million.
I know Nuge is loved (justifiably so) and the idea of trading him stings, but the Islanders need a 1/2C badly. Perhaps my affection for both franchises clouds my judgement, but I could see a trade between the two being mutually beneficial. |

Based on our trade history alone with the Isles makes me cringe at the thought of dealing with them again

I don't see any deal that includes both working out. Trading Nuge puts us even further behind the 8-ball and there aren't any pieces on the Isles that help mitigate that- at least none available in trade (Barzal, Lee and Pulock). |

By that I meant we could swap them with us retaining 600k to balance the cap hits as they are. |

Beauvillier, Greiss, Bellows, Wahlstrom, Dobson, Aho and cap space all come to mind. |

Beauvillier is a good piece, but nothing close to Nuge in so far as replacing our high-end scoring depth goes. Nor is Kieffer Bellows. Wahlstrom and Dobson are still at least a couple years away and Aho has promise but is at the wrong position and still a couple years from impact status (if he ever reaches such). I believe that trading too much of our high end skill for players of lesser skill but better fit is precisely what got us into this mess. I'm not inclined to believe it'll get us out. |

On that we agree.
But to counter, I would argue that possible cap savings could allow us to re-acquire the talent we lose. Of those I mentioned above, Beauvillier and Aho are ready right now, and I’ve seen enough of Aho to comfortably say he could fill Russell’s spot immediately.
Nuge + Russell for Beauvillier + Aho (not the exact trade I’d make, but serves as a rough example)
We acquire a 21YO RFA winger who’s capable (IMO) of at least 45+ point production.
We acquire a VERY solid LHD prospect who’s ready for the bigs now.
We create some much needed cap space, using it to extend existing assets/allow us to target FA’s/make space for further trades (aka Zucker).

I'm getting flashbacks of Griffin Reinhart when you mention that considering the team we're trading with...

If Holland’s plan is to break up Leon and Connor and try to surround them with wingers for that potent 1-2 punch then you could explore the idea of trading Nuge if the return is good.....if Holland’s plan is to keep Leon and Connor together then trading Nuge becomes a hard sell due to having to fill that void....I am curious as to what Holland wants to do with the dynamic duo

“Many teams have two goalies now. Ideally I'd like a goalie who could play 30-35 games and they challenge and push each other. Ideally I'd like one who has pro experience. I will talk to teams, but right now we likely will find one in free agency." Holland on the radio - RatedR80
Sounds like one of Howard or Bernier will be an Oiler.

So... an interesting trade proposal came up in the NJ thread.
LD/3rd for 2019 1st Overall + Anderson + Speers + Severson....
I don't know how I feel about that. A part of me wants to do it. A part of me doesn't. |

Would the Oilers entertain offers for the 8 pick?
I keep hearing how they need NHL ready players, so I was thinking something along the lines of
Kreider, pick 19-20 (from Jets) and if that isn’t enough throw in Vesey or Namestnikov...for the 8 pick.
I don’t think they’d trade that pick, but figured I’d ask lol. I’d think they feel some pressure to start making the playoffs again, rather then waiting on a kid to pan out in a few years |
