Brock Nelson?

Also think he could move to wing if Frost eventually proves ready.

- J35Bacher

I would like to see one of:

Duchene, Pavelski, Lee, Dzingel, or Nelson

I would also like to see for system and speed reasons one of:
Hagelin or Zuccarello

What scares me are the daily conversations on this board. We currently have a young core on defense of Provorov, Gostisbehere, Sanheim, Gudas, Hagg, Myers, Morin and MacDonald. All under contract. However, we’re still talking about bringing in a veteran defenseman.

On top of this, some fans aren’t willing to wait for Nolan Patrick to break out as he enters his third pro season, so their answer is to blow all kinds of money on a second line center.

Last, we haven’t had a fourth line in like five years. Yes, Bellemare looks great in Vegas. Bellemare did not look great here attached to the hip with Chris Vandevelde at even strength and a poor penalty kill.

Bringing in depth and specialist should be an absolute priority. It was a priority to re-sign a fourth line winger in Michael Raffl, filling in these bottom six gaps should also be a priority.

I’m seriously worried that Fletcher takes notes from hockeybuzz.com

- SuperSchennBros

a young core on D that needs help. None of those guys can you say are fully established. To not bring in someone to help them long is foolish looking at last years results.

nothing wrong with bringing in a 2nd line center. why force patrrick into a role he aint ready for?

Agreed, Kopitar is a great player, but not Giroux. I would swap Kopitar for Voracek.

If they can sign Panarin or a Panarinesque player, then sure I'd do a trade involving Kopitar and Voracek

the only thing that scares me is status quo.....and al though I like to debate trades and such along with player moves Im pretty sure Fletcher or his predecessor wouldn't be around here...

Perhaps we can finagle a little something extra back? But I sure like the idea of Kopitar, couturier, Patrick down the middle. Wings are easier to figure out.

Kopitar, like Giroux, has a NMC for the upcoming season.

I actually think Zuccarello would be beneficial playing with Patrick.

Not really interested in paying Duchene. Don't see Pavelski leaving SJ. I think Lee re-signs in NYI and not sure about Dzingle. Like his game but came up small in playoffs.

I don’t see it helping the kings. I see what the flyers could do with it. Two established lock down selke caliber centers with a high influx of talented wingers within the organization (Farabee, frost, ratcliffe, Allison) just about ready to make an impact. It’s crystal to me

NMCs aside, I don't see the huge gain in having Kopitar over Giroux. They put up about the same points. Yes, Kopitar has an advantage on the defensive game, but is that worth an extra $1,725,000 cap hit and an extra 2 years?? And Kopitar is a year older than Giroux.

You could possibly get the Kings to retain 500k to smoothen it out. The reason they’d do this is to have a legit 1-2 punch of coots/Kopitar down the middle. Kopitar is a better center right now than giroux is full stop. Giroux has a great game on the wing, but largely at 5 on 5 from my eye, I don’t see him creating near as much when he’s playing center. The flyers organizationally are filled to the brim with wing prospects, especially if they view frost as a winger. That’s why they’d do it. Better fit.

I know people love the guy but the only player i really see being moved in an impact type deal is Gostisbehere.

Maybe they could do something with Voracek but that would take something of a Subban type swap. Maybe a one for one type deal that help teams fill certain needs.

With some of the young defenders here now i just see options with moving Gostisbehere. Maybe Gudas if something too good to say no comes along.

Too many "what ifs" on wing when you already know what you have in G.

I do like your thought on having 1 2 punch of Selke centerman, and I agree, but this trade is highly unlikely.

The Hockeybuzzers are saying what Fletcher said himself at the end of season presser and hiring of AV, so yes, expect some of those changes.

Do you really think fletcher is going to address the center position by signing Brian Boyle? That may be what you want but it’s not happening. They are not going to wait on Patrick regardless of what we think.
- Just5

You mean veteran leadership, which Vigneault specifically said goes along way in this league? You mean a guy who specifically kills penalties, after a poor season of penalty killing?

Boyle or any other signing should be a bridge gap for young players such as Patrick and Frost to come into their own.

For half of last season, most of you Geniuses weren’t happy with the JvR signing.

Then you would have to trade a young player away to to fit whomever it is you want to sign. That would be foolish!!
