I actually think Zuccarello would be beneficial playing with Patrick.
Not really interested in paying Duchene. Don't see Pavelski leaving SJ. I think Lee re-signs in NYI and not sure about Dzingle. Like his game but came up small in playoffs. - J35Bacher
Pavelski would be the leadership we need not the leadership we deserve |

the only thing that scares me is status quo.....and al though I like to debate trades and such along with player moves Im pretty sure Fletcher or his predecessor wouldn't be around here...
- landros 2
The status quo was re-signing Michael Raffl.
I have no idea for the life of me how anyone could say, it’s foolish to worry about the bottom six, while management made a point to bring Raffl back before looking into seeing what UFA has to offer.
The stays quo is actually believing Scott Laughton is the answer to fourth line center for an entire season, as he flip flops between center and wing. |

Old saying.Better trust the devil you know. And I don't think that you will find many UFA s at Raffl s price tag playing 8 different position s with very reliable defence |

A 4th line of Raffl - Laughton - Hartman is not a bad 4th line for next year. |

Great fourth unit, I'd think Hartman could play on the third as well. |

Round 2 completely tap danced on Plind's egg-faced skull. Coach PunchFace, not only got another coaching gig and won the division, is in the WCF. Sergie Bobrovsky is at home watching the playoffs after not winning the Stanley Cup in Game 3 |

Keep in mind Raffl took a pay cut for the next 2 years to stay.
From 2,350,000 this season to 1,600,000 for the next two. The cap hit is structured to be 1.8 and then 1.4 for the next year. I thought it was a pretty good signing and we wouldn't have been able to get those #'s in FA.
My hope is they'll address the 3C issue - so Laughton shouldn't be in the same position last year. |

Okay...I already said the other day that I don’t see the 4C being a spot that now needs immediate upgrade. I will also add that I like Laughton in that role. I suppose he could be moved to 3LW, and you can have a vet there if you want.
Laughton was a bright spot this year and should be part of the plan moving forward. He was consistent and played with energy.

Like Laughton, defended him when others thought he was a bust
But him and the 11th pick can probably get you a really good return
I’m trading everybody today |

I'm sure Yotes would trade us Stepan and Raanta for the 11th/Rubstov. |

adding laughton to the 11th pick really doesnt move the needle at all imo to add any significant value to a trade |

why would it be foolish to trade away a young player? Do you think they are going to give young said player away?
depending on the return it is not foolish at all |

11 is a good pick in this years draft, Laughton is a proven and versatile NHL forward, I think the package to the right team would work
I prefer keeping Laughton but |

Rubtsov lol why would he have any value? Outside of the Flyers circle I highly doubt anyone regards Rubtsov as anything valuable. |

...and what know about Raffl is, he gets hurt every season. He’s not the same guy who could play up and down the line up and might pot you 20 goals. What I know about Raffl is, he’s been on the same roster for years, with all the same shortcomings. |

The bottom half of your post is exactly my point. I’m more concerned with the bottom six than the top six. I fully expect Nolan Patrick to improve. I thought Patrick proved to have a better two way game this past season and his offensive numbers aren’t far off from Couturier’s, when Coots broke into the league, also as an 18 year old.
As for the Raffl pay cut. I doubt he was getting a raise. |
