i just dont think he adds any real value to a trade. Not a significant add - daryl stanley
I don’t think Laughton adds any value to a trade either. |

Rubtsov lol why would he have any value? Outside of the Flyers circle I highly doubt anyone regards Rubtsov as anything valuable. - ClaudeFather
Agree not much but still a 1st rd pick, had a good start last season. A team rebuilding might take a look along with the 11th |

So a NHL player, has good wheels, decent shot, coming off an up year for him, can play wing, center, PK, has no value? |

do you think adding him really makes or breaks a deal if they decide to move the 11th overall pick?
he is a guy i rather keep as he is still an unknown. big year for him coming up. Now if he has to be added to a deal to improve by all means see ya. |

Okay...I already said the other day that I don’t see the 4C being a spot that now needs immediate upgrade. I will also add that I like Laughton in that role. I suppose he could be moved to 3LW, and you can have a vet there if you want.
Laughton was a bright spot this year and should be part of the plan moving forward. He was consistent and played with energy.

If you are constantly being moved from center to wing, that isn’t consistency. Yes, Laughton had a career year from a numbers standpoint but center and wing is two very different roles. Center is a much more difficult position than wing. If just anyone could player center, than our problems would be solved by putting Giroux back at center and Couturier manning the second line spot. |

What are you expecting you him to fish you? Many have him chocked as a fourth line center on this team...
It took Laughton forever to become an nhl regular. |

Scarcity drives value and Laughton's skill set is not rare.
(A good player, but daresay not much trade value) |

Agree with supply and demand, why he would be in a package with a 1st rounder.
A rebuilding team wouldn’t like a 24 year 6 6 1 3-4 th line player ? Agree not huge value but there is trade value. |

Not sure that is accurate he is 24 can play 3rd or 4th line, good skater.
Alone no but as a package he carries value |

...and what know about Raffl is, he gets hurt every season. He’s not the same guy who could play up and down the line up and might pot you 20 goals. What I know about Raffl is, he’s been on the same roster for years, with all the same shortcomings. - SuperSchennBros
Agree with the 20 goals but apart from that he still can do breakout games and work defence
He saved a lot hassle also this season as puck carrier and d zone start when Travis did have a bad game as backup |

He might actually diminish the value of the 11th pick, since you have to figure that the other team would need to accommodate whatever his cap-hit is gonna end up being.
Value = 11th Pick + Laughton's production/skill set - cap ramifications. |

I think they make 1 signing from the A- list of players for forward, and use the trade route to bring in their veteran defenseman. I'm curious why Talbot hasn't signed a deal yet.... That might not be as "certain" as we originally thought. They may still be looking at Elliot's health considering he played well when he came back and was healthy. - youarewrong
There are a lot of potential UFA goalies available that would fit nicely in a #2 spot. Most have better numbers than Talbot (last year) and lack Elliott’s medical issues. Waiting seems to be the prudent way to go. |

Laughton was moved around this year and yet his play was consistent. There is huge value in being versatile enough to play both center and wing, not everyone can. Both Giroux and Laughton can, which is great from a roster management standpoint. If Laughton spends his year at 4C good; if he is needed up the lineup due to injury then it’s great that he can do that. If we strike out and can’t get that 2C and G needs to be a 1C/2C all year, I can think of worse problems. Good thing they are both versatile. |

That sounds like a real stretch there. To recap, he holds no value but watch out for his cap hit?? |

I doubt it, if you are moving in the top 10, those teams tend to have more cap space & room for a player like him. |

Those teams may not value a bottom-six forward at $2M+ AAV, or have their own kids to audition in that spot.
The only trade I can remember off the top of my head where a bottom-six forward got a team into the top-10 of the draft was Ruslan Fedotenko for the Pitkanen pick. But he was packaged with 2 2nds. |

Not sure 2 mil will break the bank, I also think a 24 old who had to earn his way onto an nhl roster while being a 1st round pick would be good for younger player s |

Fletcher word for word says he wants to add a vet d man and a top 6 center so Patrick can have less responsibility and a veteran goalie. It's not rocket science it's on file. He also mentioned free agency is weak. Which implies he prefers a trade. He also says they'd like to upgrade the top 9 forwards in general. He never once mentions upgrading the 4th line. Because it's not on his radar.
Jvr wasnt a bad signing for half the season. He was for the whole season even when he did score. Hes inconsistent and over paid. And I'd be shocked if he finishes that contract a flyer.

JVR was awesome down the stretch, he's paid to score goal and that's what he did. If you are expecting a guy that carries the puck through the neutral zone and looks fancy out there you are not gonna be happy. He goes to the net and scores goal, it ain't pretty but it's effective. |

By the way he also did a decent job passing and he cleared the d zone at times. One of the few flyers who has hands good enough to lift the puck out of the zone in tight spots. |

You know what? I think it’s an embarrassing coaching decision because Travis Konecny might not be playing up to standard next to Giroux and Couturier, so Konecny is replaced by Raffl. Raffl does a lot of things well but he’s very rarely going to break a game open, if at all. |

Just because someone doesn’t mention something, doesn’t mean it isn’t on his radar, that’s just absurd to even imply this.
If what you are saying is word for word, provide a link. Anything else is speculation. I don’t know if Fletcher has been following the Flyers the last five years but I have. Corban Knight and Phil Varone are unacceptable as nightly players. They’re barely NHL players.
I would love for a GM to walk in the dressing room and tell a veteran fourth liner that his role doesn’t matter. You’re not on my mind. |

100% agree, put a dynamic guy on their line, we don't need to put a safe play guy out with them. Giroux is going to make plays and put guys in positions to score, it's insulting to put a 10 goal guy on his line. |
