I’ve watched most of their games start to finish, and he’s been with Dillion at even strength. Not saying Karlsson has looked great in the dzone, but Dillion doesn’t exactly makes the best plays either
Miller and or Hajek, should be his partner down the road. Hajek showed some Slavin type moments. I know it’s an extremely smaller sample, but that’s the idea play him with a defense first kind of guy
No one is taking into account that maybe, just maybe, Karlsson is a freak of nature. Nothing has told me that he isn’t, I’ll say that - Slimtj100
He has 12 goals his last 2 seasons, 33 goals the 2 seasons before that. To me that’s a sign he’s slowing down a bit. |

Now it’s goals? It’s always pts with you. It’s really moot if he’s setting up dozens upon dozens of goals to 18 thru 21 yr olds isn’t it? |

We really don’t have a captain. Maybe Hank in reality, But I’ve seen enough to know that no one from the previous era should be captain. They all bombed when it mattered most |

So we can't cite Karlsson being good beased on what he has done, but the future for him is unknown. Wow, in that case I'm sold. Karlsson stinks. #NotMyLackOfSkillRangers |

I just think it's a case of we all know already
everyone here talks hockey on a blog every single day
everyone should already know what Karlsson has done already
everyone should also know that in the past we have paid players handsomely for things they did with other teams |

Chytil needs a veteran leader he can relate to. Karlssson, nah you gone homie. Gimme Roman Polak. He's czech, right handed and has elite leadership/60 & grit/60. |

If only there some kind of correlation between players getting older and injured and declining skills compared to their prime. I tell you its just a mystery we will all never be able to solve |

the TSN article sums it up
Imagine slotting Karlsson at No. 2 a calendar year ago.
In this case, it all comes down to health. What seemed like a slam dunk likelihood for Karlsson to re-sign with San Jose has become a wait-and-see scenario after Karlsson missed 29 games this season.
There is no questioning Karlsson’s talent. There is also no question that Karlsson will be paid handsomely. Players of his all-world ilk rarely make it to market.
But there have been more than a few questions about his skating – hampered by groin injuries this season – which hasn’t been as effortless as usual in these Stanley Cup playoffs.
Some moments, he looks like the Karlsson of old, flinging a 125-foot saucer stretch pass down the ice. Other times, he looks to be labouring, like he’s not going to be able to finish the game.
Will teams be willing to pay mega dollars at a maximum seven-year term (or eight years for San Jose)? Or will he cash in with a higher AAV on a shorter-term, lower-risk deal?
When Karlsson did play, he produced points at his usual high rate (0.85 per game), but three goals in 53 games represented the lowest goals-per-game rate (.06) of his career |
