Watched Finland this morning and the USA now. I would be surprised if the Devils DONT take Kakko. He is NHL ready.
Ps Fox looks confident too - Greschnergy#4
I think Hughes fits them more right now tho, Hischier and Hughes is a very nice 1-2 punch. It’ll be interesting right up until they make the pick, it’s a true 1A-1B situation. All we have to do is sit back with our feet up |

Looking back I kept saying just be in the top 3, but knowing that Podkolzin guy has fallen some thank god we have two. Phewwww - Slimtj100
If he’s there around 6/7/8 I say do whatever it takes to trade up to get him. 20th and 2 of the 2nds? |

It’s a win win but I think Kakko is the way to go. Hughes isn’t a bad pick, gives us options but makes trading down to get Podkolzin more important IMO.

In the grand scheme of things I’m not sure how much it truly matters to the org, but they need a winger with a RH shot. Everyone is LH here, Kakko is LH, Kravtsov, Podzolkin is LH. This always seems to be a thing, never enough RH shots. Zib is the only RH shot
But if they ended up with Hughes instead of Kakko, it obviously a great situation now at center and but really must get Panarin. Even more so because he’s finally someone RH haha |

I still think Edmonton is the most logical trade partner to trade up with. They need a winger like Kreider (but I don’t think he’d wanna re-sign there), and bottom 6 NHL players. Give them 20 for 8 and add to it however needed. That’s what I’m hoping for anyway |

With the 20 pick if it stays with them, I’d go:
Center
Or
RH shot winger
Or
RH d

BUF at 7 also. 20, 49 Nils Lundqvist.
Could add Kakko Podkolzin Fox Panarin this off-season. That would be huge.
Still have 58, 68, 112, 130, 161, 205 |

How are Suzuki, Tomasino, Brink, Newhook, Lavoie and Laeson? Compared to Chytil, Howden and Lias?
My concern is still 2C for the future. Zib is fine as a 1-2A to me, and I’m not sold on Chytil there yet. That’s a very important thing to have imo, 2 great/solid centers. Not a 1 and three 3s or something like that. I feel like that’s our ceiling at that position at the moment |

That buff offer is one of your better ones lol. That’s not bad, I’d rather see if Lundkvist could be someone else tho.
I was thinking 8 for 20 and Kreider. Edm needs a top 6 winger badly (re-signing him there would be difficult tho I think) |

The reason Podkolzin is falling in mock drafts is because he has stated that he wants to stay in Russia --- he has NO desire to come play in NHL. Not a guy you want to trade up for... |

They say that about every Russian, I think in 2 years he comes over. Most guys drafted this year are 1-2 years away anyway. If it weren’t for ppl being worried about that he’s the clear #3 this year. If we can take advantage of that I think we have to. We have plenty of other picks. |

Ya I don’t think Kreider would sign there and I doubt EDM would want him a year away from UFA for the #8 pick. |

I think I am warming up to him
I still prefer taking the most dynamic forward available if they stick at 20, but I'd be ok with Cam York or the right handed Moritz Seider at this spot.
Seider probably doesn't get here until 2022 though |

I dont think Hughes is playing in the NHL in 2019/20 season- he needs to get stronger in my opinion. I would be thrilled with either 1A or B.
Lefties are RH in hockey.
If we draft Kakko- i would bring try and sign Hayes or Duchene with Panarin.
I am in the no EK camp.

If you put Panarin on a line with Zib- both are going over 80 pts |

really? I think he's a definite for NHL
at this point I dont even think he has a place to play if it's not with the Devils or Rangers, but I do believe some OHL team does own his rights
maybe it will take him awhile to dominate but I definitely think he'll be in NHL |

I would split them up and have a 1A/1B line, create matchup problems with other teams |

I’m done with Hayes, he doesn’t have that extra gear that u need for the playoffs. He has 4 goals in 40 playoff games. |

Bye bye Hayes. No thanks..
If we want Panarin here, Nam and Vesey will need to go. Signing Hayes will make it harder to get Panarin... Same with Zuuc |
