Skjei is under contract for many more years, Vesey is an RFA ----- totally different players with totally different values.

I view Vesey as an add-on in a deal, Skjei is more of a cornerstone piece. However, trading Skjei at all would mean we would be selling low on him, and that could be a big mistake...

When I evaluate a player I try and imagine playoff hockey. Usually guys that are “softer” tend to have a tougher time in the playoffs. Look at Gaudreau, all that speed and skill but in playoff hockey when the holds get let go a little more, the physical play is allowed a little more etc, those “softer” guys really seem to have trouble. That’s why I don’t want Hughes. If we get him I’ll be happy, but I would prefer Kakko.
