IMO, he'll likely play with Kapanen, who is a decent winger.
I think he's gonna have to be traded.. Can't have a 3rd line C, making $4.5M when your top 2 centers are paid $11M+.
Also, IMO, he's struck out.. That was his 3rd suspension (twice by the league, once by the team) in less than 4 years. - PatC80
I can't argue the suspension angle, because he does no one any good when he's suspended. I also, personally, don't love his game. He falls too easily - whether he has the balance of an 89 year old alcoholic or is sadly trying to draw penalties, I don't know, but he should be working on that every moment of every day.
That being said, the Leafs model was to be strong down the middle. I think that means they want 3 strong centres - like Crosby-Malkin-Staal. Without knowing where it ends up, I think I read that Dubas is trying to get Kadri into anger management as a last ditch effort with him. |

the kid's already a bust.
Was considered a "can't miss" prospect up until the trade. Now that he's a Hab, he's a bust. - PatC80
You can't wash that stink off of a guy.
. . .the Storm have been seriously fortunate. I don't think they get by Saginaw, but then their goalie gets himself suspended for 5 games, and *boom* Guelph gets to beat up on a rookie goalie.
They're doomed against the 67's . . . but Michael DiPietro gets injured.
Not that the backup is exactly a slouch.
But despite that terrible Hab stink, Suzuki is fantastic. In many ways, he's sort of the modern prototypical Hab: small, fast, agile . . . but has good hands, and good offensive instincts. |

Gotta say, I thought they were done for trailing 0-3 vs London. |

I'm curious what the biggest play "handed" Boston the game? Also a lot of calls against them this year... puck off the netting, lost 3-4 challenges, Goalie Interference vs Toronto. It's easy to cheery pick - MrBeanTown
1-0 game and McAvoy jumps and hits Anderson in the head. Easy call for 5 minutes (and should have been multiple games suspension). But they inexplicably only give him 2 minutes. Completely changed the game. Never mind that Chara also has free reign to do what ever the (frank) he wants on the ice.
I missed the game with the netting goal so I can't comment on it other than yeah, it shouldn't have counted.
And that was not goalie interference against the Leafs, but I am absolutely shocked the refs actually made the right call and called it a good goal. |

I'm hoping for it to end in 6. Don't need San Jose getting handed a 3rd consecutive game 7. |

Landeskog is clearly standing inside the blue-line upon puck entry by MacKinnon but what confuses me is that the Avs captain is no longer part of the five active players on the ice since he's changing?
The disallowed goal is a travesty. |

The league is a joke lol. How they manage to screw up so many calls baffles me.

I can live with a bad call made on the ice... refs are human... it's gonna happen.... frustrating but understandable.
But the disallowed goal was reviewed. People took their time, thought about it and decided a player, who wasn't counted as one of the five guys on the ice by the refs (otherwise it would have been a too many men penalty which is not reviewable) was offside on the play and decide to disallow a goal because of it?

That was a bad call, how can he be offside if he was going off the ice? |

They explained on the radio that it was actually the rule that the goal not stand. You need to maintain possession and hit the white of the blue line or some poop. |

Anytime the league puts in a new rule it's a disaster. They can'react to a GM of 1 team complaining of 1 call which went against them. |

Yet they have been doing this.
The rumour is that Bettman called both Toronto and Vegas to apologize for bad officiating. |
