Were you in favor of Rolston for similar reasons? Both have similar, and questionable resumes. Minimum qualifications and risk aversion are different things.

I'm always in favor of the new guy over the re-tread.

Thanks for sharing. Obviously third hand info but it fits Homie's narrative to a "T" about Kim being an incredibly hands-on owner and meddling in everything. I wouldn't be surprised if Botts made offers to AV and McLellan and they took a pass because they didn't want the headaches and job insecurity. Now, with Kim's vast waitressing experience that has helped her do an excellent job running an NFL and NHL team, i wonder if she could also coach an NHL team?
- SabreWest

Right, that's why they got into coaching, for the job security.

Ugh, trade Risto, fine.

Kim, for the love of god just don’t allow Botterill to do it.

Matthew Boldy
Position: Left wing
Last Team: U.S. National U18 Team Development Program
Age: 18

Like many of his USNT teammates, Boldy is one of this year's most highly-anticipated prospects. He's is incredibly talented with the puck and is able to be creative without being risky due to the fact that he rarely makes mistakes. The 6-foot-2 winger is a physical player that can sneak past defenders and be lethal on offense due to his shot, hockey IQ and unpredictability

Oh boy we draft a tkachuk that is nothing like tkachuck Exciting times to get another Drew Stafford

Hopefully he becomes like mark stone but I just have a felling We’re not the right team for him to get to that level

Homie... 89...
u guys hearing anything like this?

- jdfitz77

I have said many times, they are way too hands on

way too involved

ruff and disco sucks are connected with vet coaches

it would not surprise me in the least if this is the case, and I said yesterday if they insist on a vet coach I would not be shocked if 3 or 4 turned them down

they have a bad label as a sports owner, as I have pointed out in the past, it's one thing to say we need to get a future QB, what they do is way beyond what they should be doing

picture Jerry Jones at his worst, and multiply it by 10

In all honesty some teams just fit like a glove for some players Boldy would fit in nicely with the ducks imo

Ristolainen had some interesting things to say (Lost love for the game )

On the season: "It was the toughest season (I/we) have had. It started well, and we were in playoff pace in mid season, but then we started to slide. The games got tougher and suddenly we were losing the one goal games that we had won earlier. This was my sixth season in Buffalo, and every year it gets more and more disappointing that we can't make the playoffs. I'd love to play in the playoffs. I just watched the Swedish league playoffs on tv and I got chills thinking about how it would feel to play in those games."

On his "post season vacation": "The season was so tough mentally that I didn't want to think about hockey for a while. I went to Manchester and Liverpool to see some football and then played some golf in Spain. I also told the National Team that I wouldn't play in the WC. I just didn't want to play hockey anymore this season."

On the possible trade rumours: "It's obvious that changes have to be made with the team. And if you look at our young roster, there aren't that many players who you would get something in return in a trade. It's more than likely that if a big trade happens, I would be part of that deal. That's realistic, but summer will tell where I'll play next season."

Asked about his own point production: "Points don't really matter. I would trade them for team wins. I've never cared much about point production. You're supposed to score some points when you get to play on the powerplay, anyway."

His trainer on Risto's summer traingin: "We'll focus on explosiveness and speed. We'll try to make sure Risto can play a long healthy career without any need for surgeries etc."

On lifting smaller weights: "I'll use the barbell only for bench press. I won't do any back squats or cleans anymore. My back didn't really like the heavier weights. My training will be similar to last years, which was a good summer training for me. I'll train a lot because that's pretty much what I want to do anyway. I'll hit the ice in Buffalo in July when I'm there for my friends' wedding.

That’s honestly the opposite of micromanagement, they didn’t plan anything except for extra gloves in the rockies

Drew Stafford ? I see David Pasternak. Boldy is the 200 ft winger with size that we can use on this hockey club. If we take him I’d be very pleased.
