they're saying oblique...isn't that what briere had? - Michael Pachla
Maybe, but Briere had a sports hernia that needed surgery. That would suck for "Traveres". |

wait until skinner signs with the rangers july 1st - homiedclown
The only question to me now is whether Botterill tries to fix the situation by trading Risto, Reinhart and 7oa for a perceived quick fix, or does he go down with the ship being patient?

Considering we will have like $40M plus of cap space come 2020-2021 with a 25 yo Eichel, a 20 YO Dahlin, 23 YO Mittelstadt being a stud 2C and a 7OA pick starting his rookie season I think Botts will go from goat to hero real quick even if he isn’t around to see it unfold. |

Housley was the "best candidate available" according to us. We don't know Richard.

It was Housley and Tocchet. Tocchet is a filthy gambler, definitely NOT a faith based leader. No way Pegulas are buying that. There was one choice. |

You're putting a lot of chips on this outcome and there are plenty of others. |

Something in your math doesn't add up - jcragcrumple
Eichel is born in October of 1996. He’ll be turning 23 the start of the 2019-2020 season, he’ll be 24 at the start of the 2020-2021 season.
Casey was born in November of 1998. He’ll be turning 21 2 months into the 2019-2020 season and he’ll be 22 during the 2020-2021 season.
So I was off by one year on Mittelstadt. He’ll be 22 instead of 23 so that just furthers my case. |

A forward's prime is 22-28. I'm sure Eichel will be pumped that he only has to endure 1 more lost, pointless season and shorten his meaningful prime to 4 years |

Who said next years season is already a write off ? If Skinner walks we aren’t allowed to make any signings or trades ? Even if that’s the case, I’d rather waste Eichel’s age 23 season that waste his entire career becuase we have a bunch of boat anchor contracts and guys who will be past their primes when it actually matters. |

I thought Mitts was supposed to put up 50+ last year and contend for the Calder trophy. He didn’t look amazing last year.
It’s possible after his short look and success the previous year that he felt the NHL was easy and he didn’t have to try very hard. I truly hope he takes this offseason seriously, although we’ll have no way of knowing till he plays a bunch more. |

Many people thought Mitts would have that kind of year. Even Kris Baker at the beginning of the year said he had a better chance of the Calder then Dahlin. It was a disappointing year but he still has high end upside. |
